I was a big knuckle dragging Neanderthal. I could not evolve on my own, so I had a operation to get my arms shortened. No more bloody knuckles.

I would quite like to see the evolution of the freedom concept, and its practical application.

Feudalism is the governmental state we naturally gravitate to, it's just a matter of what defines the aristocracy and what defines the peasants.

If we contimue to have inter-continental sex we will experience some hybrid vigor, better looking offspring and a lot of interesting new morphologies. We won't be sprouting extra limbs or anything unless some  experimental human DNA gets out of the lab. We'll still have wisdom teeth.

in 2107, the world will look like...

overcrowdied population centers as climate change and resource scarcity make many area's increasingly unlivable. populations stuck in shanty towns without drinking water or electricity which travel less than today as cars become unaffordable and skyrocketing cost of living expenses make infastructure improvements unattainable. An impovershed and socialized peasant class of americans with PHD's as the consumer economy crumbles for lack of jobs while large loan-driven institutions florish.
increasing levels of obesity in the first world as affordable, nutrional food becomes unattainable. water and meat will be the new black market commodity instead of drugs.
temporary shanty towns, trailer-home permanant refugee camps and robust one-story buildings because of freakish storms and the flooding of low-lying areas such as the burbs around nyc/florida.

medicine will become more and more unattainable to the have-nots whose refugee-level lifestyles and tax-starved governments cannot afford health insurance or even condoms. diseases such as clamitia and typhoid will once again be the scourge of the modern world, while the have everythings attain cures for cancer and live to be 200ish.

Canada will hate the illeagles they deny needing for their recently thawed and resource rich super-power economy streaming across the border from the flooded and dust-bowl south.

Regional epicenters of prosperity replacing our current super power model cropping up in places like parts of india/china, venezula, brazil, canada, russia, the southern alaskan coast and maybe australia.

the rich will enjoy techish gadgets and big toys of unimaginable coolness while the economy slides ever backwards into a capital level rather than consumer-commodity market. There will be less rich, virtually no middle class, and the class wars/high crime between the haves and have nots will surpass even current day south africa. Information technology and stem cell cloning research will move to surgically implanted Blackberries and camer-eyes and smog-filtering lungs and such leaving the worlds sucessful as cyborgs who are functionally psychic with regaurds to instantly accesable information technology.

the middle east will become the new africa as oil revenues dry up yet armed conflicts persist.

if world markets crumble quick enough, there will be economic resurgences in places with low populaiton density like africa and south america as the grip of international investment finally gives and these markets are allowed to become self sustaining for the first time in centuries.

all nations will engage in more frequent wars over dimishing resources.

There will be no spaceship to take us to salvation as there is increasingly less resources to devote to such alteristic endeavors. there wont even be railroads to replace cars.

My better half, Madame G, thinks there will be a zombie outbreak-a war between the living and the dead.

christ. I depress myself. just chalk us up for another vote for big boobies.

It just seems that feudalism is the natural extension of the simple troop and village structure of our ancient ancestors - amplified. The feudal form of social and political organisation exists in all agrarian cultures at all times in history, whether it is strong arm enforcement like warlords or the congenital entitlement myths of the aristocracy (supplemented by thugs), we seem to slip easily into the lords and peasants roles.

Especially in times of chaos, when subtle and complex, consensual forms of government become difficult or impossible to run, we revert to feudalism. It is a remarkable stable form of government which can endure for centuries or millennia.

We are social by nature and we organise in basic hierarchies all the time. I suspect that the D/s dynamic most on this board find so natural is an expression of the same tendency to form feudal societies. It's bred in the bone.

There will be at least two more attempts at mass genocide, one in Europe and one in Asia.

The west will chew up all the resources of the world, until the amazing discovery that western trash is awefully useful as a fuel source.

In America, the poor will still be poor, the homeless will still have no home, and poor homeless children will still be too enbarrassing a problem to admit having ... BUT ... you will be able to get Liscio Japanese hair straightening in your home for $10, there will be a pill that permanantly increases your breast size, and another that guarentees an erection in a 130 year old man.

Yanno, funny you should mention that, I like to dress girls up like Judi and  fuck them till their nose bleeds and  pretend my vacuum cleaner strategically placed in the corner is Rosi and she's a voyeur.......

GAWD, I felt so alone in the world until this very instant.

Zager and Evans

In the year 2525
if man is still alive
if woman can survive
They may find

In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lie
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the pill you took today

In the year 4545
You ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
Nobody's gonna look at you

In the year 5555
Your arms hangin' limp at your sides
Your legs got nothin' to do
Some machine's doin' that for you

In the year 6565
You won't need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube

In the year 7510
If God's a-coming, He oughta make it by then
Maybe He'll look around Himself and say
"Guess it's time for the judgement day"

In the year 8510
God is gonna shake His mighty head
He'll either say "I'm pleased where man has been"
Or tear it down, and start again

In the year 9595
I'm kinda wonderin' if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing

Now it's been ten thousand years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what, he never knew
Now man's reign is through

But through eternal night
The twinkling of starlight
So very far away
Maybe it's only yesterday

Agreed. I saw that and thought " We're already there! ", then proceded to bitch about the rest of the movie.

I'm actually fleshing out a short story, where I take a guess at how we will have adapted, not so much evolved.

Here's my take:

We will all have an extreme form of ADD, as a way to adapt to a world where fifteen thousand things are being thrown at us at once, where information is constantly pouring at us from every which way. It will have gotten to the point where we can watch a TV show, talk on the phone, text message someone, and listen to music all at once, we will have adapted so that our attention can be so perfectly split.
We will also be addicted to extreme forms of speed. Caffeine and B12 will be child's play, as we will grow to need more and more higher potency energy drinks and whatnot to keep us going, to keep our mental faculties tuned on high at all times.
Also, communication will be done entirely by technology. Why? Because it'll be streamlined; it'll be faster, and more efficient.
