the trend is to sell interstate highways for 75 years. Indiana just sold i80.  many states are considering selling also. how is it- public assets can be sold????

excellent p[oint about cheap labor working the ports.

American truckers are bad enuff- granted - they are pushed to the brink via management- many have a real and fake log book. each pot hole loosens the rivots. so- over time- our disrepair roads- wear out the trucks faster.  we can put a man on the moon- but our road building tecknology is woefully inadequate- i submit- that its planned to wear out quickly so as to need replacing sooner- hence more money for the cement industry- which in Kansas city is a force hidden- but the cement cartel controls more then you would guess.

putting ports in MX is a no brainer- as per the not in my back yard attitude.

Sadly- the idea of imminenet domain- many states strengthen landowner rights after that assinine supreme court decsiion. PA- is at the bottem of the list for land owner rights.  in fact my city of 12,000 is taking 9 properties this year alone- due to "blight".
well if you zone a property into obsolescence- and it has no use of course owners will loose interest in improvements!!

consider that truckers- once a highly paid occupation- can then all be outsourced to MX- maybe even pay the driver $5 an hour.

then the rickety condition of such trucks.

it wasnt long ago- we had a scandal here in PA. "back hauling". this is where a rig transports garbage to a lndfill one direction, then on return=-transports food.  unfortunately PA is the garbage can of teh country!  the supreme court ruoled that PA cant stop other states from using landfill. this includes a surcharge even.

so as currupt as things are in the USA- the last thing we need is a MX influence.

Canada- I have no problem with joining. In many way CN is a great example of how a country should work.

*waves to Canadian nieghbors!*

Casie -> RE: NAFTA Superhighway (8/18/2007 6:28:06 PM)

Whats wrong with and why are people so upset? Your kidding right? The NAFTA super hughway is the first step toward Mexica,Canada and America merging into one country. Do you think our constitution will mean squat after this? This is also the reason why they want to start the National Id Card system!! Which I'm against TOTALLY!! I am not cattle I will not be marked as cattle. I have a RIGHT to my privacy and freedom!!

Those who give up a little liberty for a little protection deserve neither protection or liberty

Then, perhaps, instead of giving it up, one should see it persist in any new government?
