Alison, I found that when I wrote a pretty long profile about what I wanted (not explicit sexually at all, but the kind of tone/rapport I sought), my interests in the vanilla world, and listed a couple of my accomplishments (that was more important to me because I have a history of playing dumb with men because I used to think they wouldn't like me if I was smart--now I drop that in my profile so that I'm not hiding that info), I started meeting some really quality people. I got a few 'Hellos" and quite a few men that wanted me to be their penpal (which I just don't have time for), but I stopped getting creepy e-mails almost completely. Now, the flow into my inbox was pretty minimal--maybe 1-2 a day, but the quality was dynamite. I am also on eharmony, and I would say the quality of people I'm meeting here is much higher. Just my experience--ymmv
