You may want to ask the doctor if you could be having partial bowel obstruction. I was having similar symptoms off and on, and assumed it was due to stress, etc, and just toughed through until I felt better. Then one day, the pain did not go away, and I had not had any passage of gas since the previous day. I started having some vomiting, and finally went to the ED. They did a CT scan and said I had an obstruction of the small bowel, probably due to adhesions from previous abdominal surgery I'd had some years ago. I did not need surgery for this. They put me in the hospital, and stuck a tube down my nose, and finally, after 8 days, the obstruction went away. After that experience, I will NEVER underestimate the importance of being able to fart, when needed. *L* I had to be readmitted 4 days after that discharge, because of a partial obstruction. That is where you have the pain and feel bloated for a while, then better for a while (although you may have diarrhea), etc. No nose tube this time, just IV fluids. I hope it does not happen again, because then I might need surgery. Have they done an abdominal CT scan yet? Even a plain xray of the abdomen will show the intestines dilated above the obstruction, and empty below it. A GI series of xrays after drinking barium may help prove or disprove this, too. (edited to add) My husband's liver enzymes were elevated, even though he tested negative for hepatitis, didn't drink, and did not use tylenol. An ultrasound of his liver showed that he has "fatty liver", where fat deposits end up in the liver and cause elevated enzymes. The doctor said he may never have any problems due to this, but because his enzymes will always test as elevated, the blood bank won't allow him to donate blood again, because of the enzymes elevation.
