ORIGINAL: AAkasha What traits do you have that make you an attractive submissive? Of course, some traits are more appealing to certain femdoms -- but many are desirable in general. Which traits of those do you possess? Akasha I had to smile when I saw this question. Several months ago I made it a point to give serious thought to what I have to offer as a submissive. It was an interesting exercise, particularly in light of not having any long term r/t within a D/s relationship to base my responses on. I made one rule in compiling my list in that I did not allow for use of any of the typical descriptive words and/or personality traits that were 'easy' (ie. honest, loyal, etc.). This forced me to 'think outside the box' and give consideration to traits, assets, etc. in my daily/general life, that would/could be considered desireable in a submissive. I admit, the answers I reached may seem a little 'cheesy' to some. Also, please excuse the little 'tags' I attached to what I came up with and the long winded nature. In light of my lack of r/t experience, I feel a need to clarify how/why I came up with the traits I share. Who knows, maybe it will spark others to 'think outside the box' too! *Grins* 1. His Shadow - This would be my number one trait and I reached it by giving thought to the relationship I share with my employer. Though he is completely unaware, he is my 'challenge' and dare I say, almost like a 'game' I play daily. As he does not generally appear to notice, (he's one of those ultra busy business men) there is no 'prize' for winning, other than my own sense of pride and enjoyment. I am an 'expert' on how he operates which is not easy, considering he changes his 'operating tactics' hourly at times depending on his mood, work load, etc. I can gauge his mood simply by by looking at his face out the window as he crosses the parking lot. He doesn't have to say a word and I know whether to approach only for necessity and when to keep non-emergency items for later. If he should arrive earlier than usual and I'm not done opening the mail, I will literally tear across the office to put his newspapers on his desk before he reaches it as I know he likes to read them with his morning tea. The comedy of it all is that if the newspaper isn't there? He'd not even notice, nor would he ask me for it. I take enourmous pride in anticipating his needs, reading his face, and doing everything within my power to ensure his days run flawlessly. I believe this is an incredible trait for any submissive to have, particularly in that it's done for personal enjoyment. I'm 'lucky' if he even looks up from his desk when I approach, nevermind receive a 'thank you'. It doesn't matter. It's not about the recognition. It's about me taking personal pride in making his days at the office go as flawlessly as possible! It's fun! (For what it's worth, I've doubled my salary in four years so maybe he does notice more than I think?) An attentive submissive who takes pride in her ability to anticipate a Dominant's needs? There is definately something to be said for that! 2. Mildly Obessive Compulsive Disorder - I not only keep an immaculate home, but the entire 'organized/efficiency' habit carries forward into every facet of my life! Toothbrushes to baseboards is fun for me! (No joke). I polish all the tap faucets daily as water marks are irritating. My computer is organized to perfection, along with the cupboards, drawers, music collection, etc. I thrive off being 'together' and this tendency has become my trademark personally, socially and professionally. I'm always in control (I use the word 'control' loosely! LOL) regardless of the work load (home/work) as I'm so efficient and organized. I keep a home and a lifestyle in general that any Dominant would be proud of. 3. The Chameleon - This is a little difficult to share as it's rather personal, but I will do my best. At the risk of appearing to steroeype, I do so only to explain 'The Chameleon'. I'm one of those people that according to the 'experts' should be a 'statistic'. Without getting into a lot of detail, let's just say I was raised in an extremely dysfunctional home and was a mother before I turned sixteen. 'Experts' (Said with tongue in cheek) claim 'children who lived my life often get their spirits 'broken and repeat the 'cycles'. I have lived and walked on 'the wrong side of the tracks' so to speak. Yet, I was blessed with the intellect and an unbreakable spirit that allowed me to break 'the cycle'. In other words, you can place me in any environment and I can quickly adapt to my surroundings. I can 'slum it' with the best, sell ice to an eskimo, and in essence, be anything I need to be at any given moment. My mom claims class is something that can't be 'learned'. You either have it, or you don't. My personal definition of 'class' is the ability to conduct yourself accordingly in any situation. A Dominant would never need hold concern that I might somehow embarrass him, regardless of where he chose to bring me. 4. I admit I've yet to analyze this one to pieces so can't elaborate other than to say I'm a devoted woman. This was pointed out to me by a Dominant friend several months ago. In this case, he was referring to my journal entries about my job and my daughter). I've yet to figure out how this could be incorporated into D/s, but ... perhaps some things just don't need clarification? *S* Yet, I will eventually as if I don't, I feel in leaving it at 'devoted' breaks the rule I made about not taking the 'easy' way out. That's what I have come up with to date. I do realize it's 'reaching', but in all fairness to me? How about two points for at least giving consideration to what I have to offer in light of my lack of experience, versus not being able to see past the list of traits I seek in another? *Grins* Imagine when I get some experience? I'll be a force to be reckoned with! Go me, go! Yay!
