Well, if you can't mount your drives, what can you mount, eh? Actually, the wireless issue is valid - but not as bad as it sounds. Most of the time, someone's done the heavy lifting of coming up with a driver for you, so it's simply a matter of having it install as recommended by the installer program. 90% of the time, not an issue. But that 10% - normally if you've bought really crazy knockoff hardware - then it gets iffy. And even then, I've not had much problem with the hardware discovery tools in most major Linux distros. What *is* nice is that a) most Linux builds are free (as in beer) and b) they often have "liveCDs" - the full OS running from a CD or DVD. Which is nice to see whether the missing wireless driver is something in your hardware, or something that's just configuration. If it doesn't work, you're out maybe a bit of time, effort and a piece of burnable media... no big whoop Me, I use Debian (well, obvious from the disclosure statement if'n you know your history) and have yet to have a problem with my wireless card or video that was caused by the software not working. And in some ways, PCLOS is a bit more windows-hardware friendly than my laptop's system... YMMV. I need to stop. Starting to get all evangelical on y'all... Suffice to say, even running a 386, you have choices other than M$
