Ravin -> RE: WoW guild-continued from sub thread (9/4/2007 4:05:07 PM)

We've had 4 guilds that were bdsm/gorean/alt lifestyle on 3 servers, 2 horde 2 alliance since right after Beta. Seems somehow they always end up with some damn issue I wish there was a way to have blizz verify the age of the account holder as over 21 or atleast over 18 and this would relieve so much of the issue.  One was shut down because of the whole content issue, none of us had the cash to sue, or wanted that attention in the media, heh. The other 3 came down to usual game issues where people outleveled other folks and got tired of waiting and headed off into other raiding guilds. I myself gave up 6+months of my life in presuit of Bloodfang on my rogue and getting guildies both Rags hammer and then getting the parts for Thunderfury

CuriousLord -> RE: WoW guild-continued from sub thread (9/4/2007 4:32:16 PM)

Yeah.. I think more empathesis needs to be on the age-verification thing.  It's not too far out there for serious guilds to require something like a webcam interview in which a government-issued ID can be displayed for age-verification purposes.  (Or if the individual is obviously elderly, meh, that could be a slide condition.  :P)

WoW really really a large population of kids, so it's not like these would be paranoid restrictions by any means.

Besides.  Say you just feel ditzy and want to flirt with the hot Night Elf who's naked and dancing under a waterfall for you.  Don't you want to know she's 18+?  (Oh, and that she's actually female?  :P)

Anyhow, I can't see Blizzard having a problem with a guild embracing such a theme provided they do so in a responsible manner.  This means checking ages and not being explicit to those who chose not to participate.

Lightful -> RE: WoW guild-continued from sub thread (9/4/2007 4:33:57 PM)

You're rolling on a carebear server ? For shame !
At least you got the Horde part right :)

as for a guild name..."Night Elves in Chains" :)

CuriousLord -> RE: WoW guild-continued from sub thread (9/4/2007 4:36:43 PM)

I think it'd be neat to come up with a name that's rather esoteric yet not truly explicit.  (Something that people from such a lifestyle would recognize, but others might disregard.)

Ah wells.  Blizzard'd get sued over exposing minors to a sexually-explicit lifestyle if the name isn't.. disecret.  So something subtle's definately on the menu.

do you seriously think this would be an issue? i highly doubt it. especially when there are "pets" that are quite sexual and spank themselves.

Ravin -> RE: WoW guild-continued from sub thread (9/4/2007 6:39:05 PM)

blizzard controls the level to which each warlocks pet acts, even so far as spanking itself and the like. I am sure legal for blizz has looked at the toons and pets and said what could and couldnt happen. As to what individuals do in the game they cannot fully control and therefor would sheet their pants over.

Yes it is.

Pyrrsefanie -> RE: WoW guild-continued from sub thread (9/28/2007 2:07:03 PM)

Too lazy to log onto my account and check... is Lightbringer PvP, PvE, or RP?

I've got a 70 Draenei healadin (epixxxx!!!!) on Gorefiend and before the expansion I had a 60 Nelf rogue and a 60 Undead shadow priest.  If you're still accepting applicants, though, I'd love to roll up with you guys... I miss the horde side just a li'l bit...

My Master used to be my class officer in our guild.  Har.

It seems to be a normal PVE server

You mean I actually have a chance in Hell of making it through STV without wanting to lobotomize myself?!

OH MY GOD AWESOME.  Making a char right now.

linkage -> RE: WoW guild-continued from sub thread (9/28/2007 2:22:59 PM)

i just started my first character (Woohoo!), his name is Linkarr, i'll try to get ahold of somebody.

Pyrrsefanie -> RE: WoW guild-continued from sub thread (9/28/2007 2:26:46 PM)

As soon as I finish patching (ugh, haven't logged on all week) I'll likely have a character named Pyrrsefanie.  I'm so imaginative, I know.

I'm pissed that they increased the Blessing of Sacrifice cooldown to 1m.  That's going to make the Maiden fight an even bigger pain in the ass... ARGH!

linkage -> RE: WoW guild-continued from sub thread (9/28/2007 3:29:14 PM)

Hum, it seems i can't send PMs in game unless they have me on their friends list because it's a trial account. Bummer!

Durus -> RE: WoW guild-continued from sub thread (9/28/2007 4:50:44 PM)

Due to an irrational hatred of blizzard I've avoided this game but I need to play something and I can't hold out until march when AoC comes out...so I guess I'm going to give it a shot. Is there an active group from here playing wow now? Having almost no knowledge of WoW what is a good class or what does the group need? I'm not picky and can play anything from tank to healer.(if such things exist in WoW)

Some tips would be nice too as I hate being a meat puppet.

But.. but... I... ... !!!  Killing innocent noobs in STV was one of my favorite passed times..

Poor level 30's.. killing little young tiger thingies..  Heh.  My slave's character was a Priest.  If we found a big group of them, War Stomp + Thunder Clap + Nova-spam.

Oh man the Alliance hated us.  That's what they get for not amusing me more in other manners.

PS-  When my slave and I hunted in STV, and lvl 70 Alliance would come to attack us, lvl 70 Horde typically came to slaughter them.  After gaining a couple of levels, I made a point of regularly returning the favor to the new Horde noobs.

DocRudy -> RE: WoW guild-continued from sub thread (9/28/2007 7:52:06 PM)

Ooooh, a very interesting idea indeed.

There's a good part of me that likes the idea of being on a server where I don't have to play vanilla with my pet just to appear normal.

Question now is, who's the bouncer by the red velvet rope I'd need to talk to? :P
