Tslaveboy -> Sewing patterns for fetish wear (8/25/2007 6:40:44 PM)

I like to sew and have been looking all over to find some patterns for fetish clothing. Does anyone know of a good source for sewing patterns to make catsuits, waist-cinchers and other items?

If anyone else sews and just wants to talk about fabricating fetish clothing, I'd love your input too.

i am a compulsive stitcher myself...

it depends on the fetishwear... almost ANY pattern can be turned into Fetishwear...

www.folkwear.com

i am making this http://folkwear.com/230.html in black velvet and using embroidered organza over the velvet on the collar and the cuffs...

www.agelesspatterns.com

anything from there can be turned into fetish wear....

some advise... make EVERYTHING up first in cheap muslin or non-stretch material. Reason being... it lets you where you need to tuck or let out the seams or add inches in spots and not ruin your good material.

last advise...(i swear)... best thing i ever did was get a body-double at a garage sale...my best friend and i then took duct tape (perverts! it not what you think!) and a long tshirt (make it a size or 2 too small) and duct taped myself... once i was wrapped from the ass on up... we cut it off from the back... put it on the body double... stuffed it where it needed to be stuffed and voila... i had a copy of me so i can make things perfectly to me!!  [8D]

PS.... once you get used to sewing in a straight line... it's a cake walk after that!  [:D]

Good luck and email me if you need to vent and sew at the same time...

OMG, soooo inspiring an idea the body double!  Was just doing a bit of sewing last week and found myself ruminating on the need for a shape model.  You've worked up an idea solution!  And I will secound the taunton threads magazine and site you listed.  Great resource.  articles on every thing from making your own bra and panties to how to size a pattern and drape fabric...great resource.  Can't say that I sew very often but the results are a lotta fun when I do.

Carrianna -> RE: Sewing patterns for fetish wear (8/29/2007 3:08:47 PM)

I have 3 sewing machines 1 over locker, (sounds like a Christmas song) but to sew with PVC, not easy, as if you need to re-stitch, they are marks...  But I have used lycra PVC, love it, brilliant stuff, and also looks good on!

I find I use so many needles!!!

But you can get any pattern from anywhere and just use PVC!  Dress up outfits are good, they are cheap if you get them from the US cheaper than the UK including post!!

I must get back to sewing again...

I want a sewing machine that will be ok with leather!!

Thank you for the links, am adding them now!!

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Sewing patterns for fetish wear (8/29/2007 4:03:44 PM)

Great idea for a body double.  I also used the same technique of duct tape over a t-shirt.  Wrapped the duct tape where I wanted a corsette to fit.  Wrapping it as tighty as possible about me.  The best part was having someone cut it off me :)  The duct tape was cut into 4 custom fitting pieces  that were a perfect pattern.

Carrianna -> RE: Sewing patterns for fetish wear (8/29/2007 4:07:12 PM)

Brilliant idea!  Off to get some more fabric this weekend!!

Thank you.

you might try your local library sewing section is with arts and crafts have fun

twisted4pain -> RE: Sewing patterns for fetish wear (9/6/2007 12:41:14 AM)

to work with pvc or and slick materal use a walker foot. and a very sharp new needle change often.

HelenaTroy -> RE: Sewing patterns for fetish wear (9/6/2007 3:02:59 AM)

My sister and I made a rubber and pvc outfit and the needles kept breaking. We switched to a denim needle and that worked! I've never used this tactic, but a friend told me that to keep the foot from skipping as you are sewing PVC, try putting a bit of vaseline on the PVC.

I'm a novice so I'm not very experienced. It does take trial and error and a lot of people HATE working with these types of fabrics. If you try to force it, I've been told it can burn out your sewing machine motor.

bbwsubnnorcal -> RE: Sewing patterns for fetish wear (9/12/2007 8:17:12 PM)

I get most of my corset supplies from http://www.corsetmaking.com/

Great service every single time.

As for cotton coutil (i use that as the inner layer of a corset) i get it from www.alteryears.com (cheapest online so far as i've found).

If i've run out of cotton coutil.... i like duct canvas.... and you can get that at WalMart!

Carrianna-----my roommate and i got lucky... her step-grandmother croaked 2 years ago and left she and her dad everything...(luckily she was a hoarder and she hoarded expensive stuff!)  We found a sewing Singer sewing machine from the late 1940's in her stash... Damn thing STILL works AAANNNDDDDD sews into leather beautifully! *woo hoo*

Go online to ebay and look up "Industrial Sewing Machines Leather" and you will find a tone of them for sale and at not bad prices....

bbwsubnnorcal -> RE: Sewing patterns for fetish wear (9/12/2007 11:24:05 PM)

Not only that....

You can take one side and mark of one pattern with your Sharpie (permanent marker)....

And take the other side and make a completely different type of corset pattern (waiste cincher, halter top, etc.)

2 patterns for one....

gotta love the duct tape!

Alexblow -> RE: Sewing patterns for fetish wear (9/16/2007 2:44:13 PM)

What a good idea, duct tape, thanks for the sites.
Well,i would like to make a leather sleepsack, and it's not a easy to do...I've see a lot of sites who sells the sleepsack, but it's still too expensive.I mean if you want quality...(if i want a sleepsack,i want it thigh  [:D] so custom made would be perfect)
I've a walking foot sewing machine, and for leather this is the best you can have, never sew pvc but seems the same.
After this message i'm going to post an introduction of me.
