I must say that is not the most well posed question I ever read.
But it is a vaslid one.
I have studied this subject, in more ways than one if you know what I mean.
The best answer might be in a post on lockmeup.com's discussion forum. It is entitled " Why would anyone want to wear a CB ?". It is a bit long, but I can surmise it here fairly quickly.
Here goes : What happens to you when you are little. They strap you down to bathing and changing tables, into rollaround seats (strollers or carseats), put you in cages (playpen or crib) and some kids even get riens !
I think those who want to bottom want to recreate an earlier time in their life, when they had no responsibilities. Even an abuser of intoxicants knows his problems will still be there in the morning, they are not there NOW. It is a break. I recess. Or dare I say the word - recreation.
To explain about me, if I were in a room with some other dominant people, I would be insidious. Yes I am listed as a switch, I am thinking of changing that, but see I like to bottom at times. I have never been in a room talking with a bunch of people into D/s, but in real life I have a way of saying what I mean sometimes in one word. A strange hush falls on the party.
I am ever dominant in life, and in relationships, and I think I deserve to be. I think I am intelligent enough that I should be in control of things. I am not tring to brag, but that is the way it is. Some may call me crazy, or a zealot, but so be it. My little circle of influence is working fine thank you.
But to bottom is something else. Get chained down and teased and tortured (just a little tortured). Keep remembering that itch you can't scratch.
Is that because of the leather clad Dominatrix over there or the car seat, when you go to scratch your tum tum your hand meets hard plastic. THAT YOU CAN'T TAKE OFF.
So, unless you disagree, this shouold bring some clarity to the subject for you, but for one thing. What of people of the past ? Marque De Sade was written when ?
Perhaps some slaves had nowhere else to go, came to enjoy their captivity. And perhaps this was not even a change, just natural selection. So now we have these people in the mix today. This is another possibility. Our attitudes and preferences are not immune to our DNA, or lineage. If that hasn't been proven more times than the sun has risen I am a monkey's Uncle.
That's my theory, it started in infancy. Pick apart my theory. Tear me up here, I welcome it. Tell me I am full of shit if that is what you think. I am a big boy and can take an insult or two as well.
Say anything you want about this, there are only two things you can't talk about here and we ain't talking about them. (veiled, poingiant, directed and meant wholeheartedly, but not in this context).I mean people have told me to put my tin hat on, cool, that helps me rate them better, are they a 1 or a 2 ?
So the premise is, that some people want to have all their responsibilities removed for a time, like a vacation, but they don't even want to be responsible for their own physical actions, well being, or pretty much anything else. And indeed when you have someone restrained you have a special responsibility, I mean I don't even answer the door at all.
Who bottoms wants maybe even to feel abandoned, but it can't be real. We know it is all play, and it is best to keep it that way.
So the other shoe dropping is this, some crave the earlier time, when they didn't have to worry about anything, others crave power over another. If this is practiced within reason it can lead to many fullfilling relationships. When dealing with assholes or perverts, it can turn into a nightmare. You put faith in another person when you bottom, just as you did in your Parents when you were young.
You did not have a choice then, but you do now. Why do you make that choice ? I know why. You are chained to a bed or a rack or something, if you start getting into it, you could hear your car alarm go off and say "Fukit, it's insured". That is your time.
Yes I said it, if someone tops or Dom/me s you, you owe. They have given you that release.
And they know it. How many are good or bad is anyone's guess, but if they like doing it they would want to keep a sub around, so the game goes on.
