ORIGINAL: MsSonnetMarwood I do know that if I add up how much I've spent on toys over the years (admittedly - I have far more than anyone could justifiably need)....books....lectures....munches...clubs...convention weekends....etc. over the last 10+ years - well, it's a lot. So for me, going out and hiring someone to play with for a couple hours just isn't going to happen. That's probably more to do with what I've personally invested rather than what I've financially invested, combined with my experience and my knowledge of just how easy it is to find play ~ if that were all I wanted. See, i think that's the rub, even more than the supply and demand that always comes to mind first (although there's a chicken/egg debate in that)... There are phenominal number of male subs free for the taking when it comes to play, soitanly... but from everything i've ever heard from Dommes, the majority are perceived as entirely unsuitable even for NSA scening because they're ill-mannered/fat/hairy/smelly/poorly dressed/prattles incessantly about old cars unreliable passive-aggressive, emotionally damaged, generally dysfunctional, prattles incessantly about old cars lack the experience and self-awareness to have a realistic idea of their own desires and limits are coming into the scene with a "laundry list of fetishes they want fulfilled" and/or a desire to "submit to a Mistress" as long as submitting means that She does X, Y, and Z to him etc. etc. etc. i assume you've heard/experienced the same. So, logically, if someone could provide a reasonable assurance of being receptive and reactive to a variety of forms of play, knew how much he could take, could convincingly be coy, or rebellious, or scared, or adoring as desired, and was providing a service so there was no "hidden agenda" to deal with, and was healthy, clean, physically attractive, and available on short notice... It seems like there should be some value in that. 'Ceptin, o'course, there ain't, 'cuz love ain't fair [8D] quote:
Incidentally, not all colleges cost $40,000/year....if you're smart and make good choices, you can make that figure cover the cost of the full degree. Aww, it's cheating if you're gonna go bargain-hunt... i got a full scholarship, so i lose my own argument [&o]
