Hi all!

I am seriously considering opening a BDSM wedding service/chapel with my Master in Vegas and am testing the waters here to see what kind of response I might expect. This is in its preliminary stages, so I'm still in the brainstorming mode. As a person ordained in a mainline denomination for many years, I have been asked by fellow members of the kink community to preside at their weddings, with or without kink elements. I'm wondering if folks in our community would be interested in going to Vegas to be married in a kink ceremony and if vanillas would do it just for the shock value/thrill/what the hell aspect of it. Any reactions?
Thanks so much for your input...sweet

~fast reply~

It sounds interesting but I personally don't think there are enough kink friendly people in Vegas for it to be a success.  Though I know you are asking about traveling to Vegas.
Speaking of, even though Vegas is "Sin City" many of the locals are pretty conservative.  They allow the swing clubs to thrive outside city limits (Red Rooster, Green Door) etc but how do you think they'll feel about S&M Wedding "Chapel"?

And do you think it'll be perceived a novelty and get media attention, attention would distract lifestylers to a point.

Certainly an interesting concept.

Thanks for the prompt input!!
Master and I are just beginning to brainstorm this, but I've been thinking of offering three possible "services" -
1. A Christian-oriented service, with kink elements in consultation with the couple.
2. A non-Christian wedding celebrating human love and connection with kink in consultation with the couple.
3. A totally kink-oriented service, including a scene by the couple, if so desired.

There are other possible "packages" to offer, but these are the first that come to mind. I'd love to hear ideas from all of you. My Master suggests offering a reception package, too, but that just seems like a massive pain in the ass (no pun intended - honest!) to me.

That's a great point about the media and we will have to address that. I don't want it to become a circus. Just a meaningful service for those of us involved in WIITWD.

Thanks!

Call me pessimistic but I think it would turn into a circus/media circus and might meet harsh protests by the ones that are allowed to marry people such as priests, judges, shamans etc..
just my opinion...
and no no matter how kinky I would be I think this's disrespectful for the marriage ceremony. I'd consider it being made fun of.

edited to add: on the other hand I wouldn't be opposed to having a 2nd ceremony as a kinky one but in my opinion there should be one regular ceremony.

Check with the local laws before you do.  Last time I heard, BDSM was illegal in Vegas, but I could be wrong.

And there are quite a few "Kinsters" in Vegas as well as the surrounding states that would happily welcome something like that.

Sincerely,
minxy

I agree if it was a legal wedding ceremony Being a Christian myself  I can see where it may meet with some resistance from main stream religious leaders and become a media circus. To do it as publicly as a wedding chapel on the strip might not be a wise move. I do however like the idea,  maybe if you did not open a public chapel but ran it more as a word of mouth personal service among the lifestyle. A few friends in a private room maybe involve a few elements if  the rose ceremony. It could still be a legal wedding.

I personally have never been married, why, simple no one can give me away, as no one owns me!  Also I have my name, I love who I am and will be sticking with my name even if I did choose to get married at a later date.

Back to the original question, if Elvis can marry people I don’t see why a kink ceremony wont work.  I also think there will be loads of vanillas that would do it, why, because it is different and to get married in a boring old style wedding dress or a hot leather or pvc outfit, well I am sure you all get my idea.

Would be a good little money earner, but I am sure if it was there would be numerous kink wedding chapels popping up everywhere!

I have known several that have gotten married for legal standpoints who have had a 2nd ceremony that was more about their D/s (M/s) relationship and I've been honored to be a part of 3 ceremonies as such.  My way thinking is similar to this.

I believe personally when there's a dungeon or lifestyle place that has a "spiritual" aspect to it or has been a part of a couple, triad or whatever's life and lifestyle and they are looking for a commitment ceremony (like what Atlanta's former Sanctuary of A Dark Angel provided) then it's a great place for a ceremony.  While I know some get married in Vegas etc, I believe that many people who are religious or practice a religion usually chose a place that they are members of so I can understand wanting to get married at a church, mosque, synagogue, temple etc.

I hope I'm making at least some sense.

You may want to incorporate a kink friendly place for the honeymoon, one in which loud noises are the norm?..One in which there are umm.."wedding gifts" in the room that are there for the couples enjoyment..a kind of package deal...Tempting

There is some interest, but for the most part people choose to go the traditional route with marriages and have a small, less formal, completely separate ceremony for the collaring.  Very rarely are the two merged completely.

This IMO is a continual sign to me of how people ACTUALLY prioritize the importance of marriage vs Ms in their lives, no matter what they say.

This is a wonderful idea, but the circus atmosphere that has been discribed is highly likely if you are public with it.

One Idea is that you could open a chapel service, and one of your services be a kink style wedding. Have a website for your kink freindly services and make sure that it is on Yahoo and Google and such.

Most of our kids were married in vegas, I think you'd get folks from all over the west to come. If people can be married in vegas by an Elvis impersonator I can't imagine having real problems from traditionalists. Weddings are an industry in Las Vegas and I am sure you could create a niche market. I would check with local law and make sure whatever perks and things you are offering would be considered legal.

good luck

Bill

BDSM weddings? Hmmmm...:-? I don't know if that would work, but hey, whatever floats one's boat. Personally, I'd stick with the traditional collaring ceremony, but if a married D/s couple wants to really seal the deal with a BDSM wedding, more power to T/them. Just my humble opinion.

Eh... this sort of thing wouldn't appeal to us. When/if Valyraen and I tie the knot we want that ceremony to be about Valyrean and Aqua and our families coming together, not just about us. When/if it comes time for a collaring ceremony, that will be about Valyraen and Kitten and our d/s relationship. That will be just about us.

There could be a demand for it though. I hope you do well if you decide to open it up!

I like this idea...maybe have these rooms on the upper level/s  and the bottom floor sectioned into chapels for collaring ceremonies if someone is interested.  It would be so cool to have a place like that to honeymoon.

When I was toying with the idea of getting married to someone I met here, we were going to Vegas to get married, this would've been a good place for us
