i have a 6th sense; i can do the following:

1. avoid danger

2. know if the phone ringing is a call from a loved one; and whom it is

3. know when something in my body is wrong

4. know when my kid is in trouble

5. know when my girlfriends' new boyfriends are shitheads or not

6. various other experiences; like knowing someone was going to have a heart attack in the office soon.

i also have my cards read by my girlfriend as often as we can find time, and use the "information" as an insight to my life. Additionally, i believe in dream interpretation..and guided dreaming. i think, ideally, people would keep journals all their lives, and pause and reflect on their teenage years; their twenties, etc, for insight into what was gained and lost. i have somehow misplaced my journals *sigh*.

i do not believe in karma or "what goes around comes around"; this world is full of chaos and injustice and suffering. i am a devote Catholic, and my priest might critise my beliefs in the extraordinary, but perhaps not; i believe they are gifts from God.

My question is: do you recognise any extraordinary matters in your own life? i know some people are going to say "it's irrational, so it cannot exist". kk; go ahead and post scoffing messages. However, i'd be pleased to hear from other people with the 6th sense and who repose some trust in having their cards read, etc.

I read tarot but find nothing supernatural in it. It's a guided form of meditation for me, a way of focusing my intuition and seeing clearly. I find it an extremely relaxing exercise. Those I read for take what they want or need from it, whether that's amusement or insight.

On occasion I've had dreams of events that come true at a later date. If only I dreamt of useful things, like lottery numbers or the winners in a sporting event, but no! Once I dreamt I visited a friend's house, and she had a tiny bottle of perfume on her windowsill, crafted out of blue glass. It happened a couple of weeks later. My dreams are always on that level. They're more novelty than anything else.

As soon as I've entered a house, I can tell if a TV is turned on somewhere even if it's muted. I can feel the static that they cause as a prickling sensation on my skin and in my head.

I can't wear watches as they'll just stop working for no apparant reason after they've been against my skin for a short period of time. My grandmother was the same way. We've taken these stopped watches to jewelers, but they say nothing is wrong with them, they should be working. The fastest I've ever managed it was during a friend's birthday party. He'd been given a very nice watch and handed it to me to look at. Thinking it would be safe, I held it, looked at it, handed it back and he found it had stopped working. I had to take him out to buy a new one to replace it, it couldn't be fixed.

I don't believe any of these things are supernatural or gifts from a deity. I think there's some sort of scientific explanation for each of them, whether it's just that I'm extremely attuned to body language and silent 'tells' (in the case of my intuition and empathy for others) or magnetic fields, with the TVs and the watches (which appears to be genetic). The dreams I'm not as certain about but I'm sure there's some reason for those too, even if I haven't figured it out yet.

The only special types of powers or anything I have ever possessed are...about death.

When my brother died there was a loud bump in the hall. The exact second he died.
This has followed me all of my life, as others have passed.

When it comes to animals I know when they are dying...I can just sense it.
The day Doug's father passed away I urged Doug to talk openly and frankly to his father. He would not have another chance. He did...and somehow I knew. An hour after we left he passed.

I used to have dreams when something bad was going to happen to a loved one. Sure enough within a few days it played out exactly the way my dream had.

Knowing if someone is bad or good...I would call that common sense. The regular's here...well who used to be here on the boards used to tell me I had a heightened Bullshit detector.
In my mind the definition of a 6th sense is something all cannot possess.

I have always had some sort of affinity with nature. While out in the woods or even in someone's backyard, I've had wild birds and animals touch me. It's not something I can will to happen and has always been spontaneous.

Once I was at a friends house and a bird flew over and landed on my shoulder. When I was still living with my parents, a Robin started following me around outside; landing on my head, shoulder or simply hopping along behind me. At my sister's house, we were out in the backyard and a squirrel dropped out of a tree and ran over and climbed up my body and hung from my chest.

One of the most moving experiences I had was going for a walk in the woods were my father used to take me hunting as a kid. This time I had a camera instead of a gun. I decided not to walk through the woods with a goal of getting somewhere and instead let my surroundings "move" me. After about 45 minutes, a deer came walking through the bushes...saw me walking towards it...and we both stopped.

Ever have that weird experience when you look someone straight in the eye and they do the same? Well, that's what happened here and it was the most incredible feeling that washed over me. No words can describe it. There was some sort of wordless communication going on between us. After a couple minutes, the deer turned and continued on its way with the most casual pace showing it sensed no danger from me as I continued on my way as well.

I read tarot with freaky accuracy. When I'm reading for myself, as with Isolde, it's a way of focusing meditation to bring myself to decitions. For others, I dunno. Perhaps it's similar in that I am able to use the cards and my read of the person to focus on the decition they would have made anyway.

I have dreams that have come true too. Also freakish. It's never anything important. It's always something like a very vivid image of a place that I later visit. I've taken to writing down my vivid dreams so I can go back and say 'yup, I wasn't recreating the memory.' Last time it happend was when I was on vacation at home my junior year of college. My best friend and I went to a resteraunt I'd never been to. I'd been there ina dream, down to the people who were there. He didn't believe me till I showed him the dream journal. It's weird. I wish it was something useful, though.

Now this sounds crazy, but I seriously have the power to shut off street lights. No lie. I noticed this one day a few years ago that everytime I drove by this one light, it shut off. Then I started noticing that a lot of street lights would shut off while I drove past them at night. So I started paying more and more attention to it, and soon realized that I could tell which ones were about to shut off. It kinda weirded me out so I went online and looked it up... apparently there are other people out there who can do this too. And there was even a program on TV recently about it. Maybe it's just my car, but everyone who drives the freeways with me at night agrees that something is up. I'll point at one light and say "that one" and it'll shut off a few seconds later. Creepy huh?

*grin* I also have boy-radar. If I like a guy, I'll be able to tell anyone where he is at a given time. But I think that's just me being obsessive and subconciously memorizing his daily schedule lol

I see dead people. I don't knock what others see or do or feel.

Happy Sunday y'all!

i forgot to mention what is probably my greatest gift. i can usually tell a person's place on the spectrum of "good to evil" by being very near them..better yet touching them..and sometimes, by being with them real time on the net. This power has saved my life many, many times as so often the "evil" in a person is carefully clothed in "normal" appearance. As a child i just avoided or fled from such people. As an adult i sometimes tried to warn others...usually to no avail. Then later, after evil deeds had been done, they'd return and say "i wish i had listened to you". Yes, but when all you can offer as proof is that you are gifted with the 6th sense, and everything appears normal, it can be difficult to persuade people to change their plans. i have found, generally, that women are more amenable to my advice than men. Big surprise, huh?
