I was sitting here at the computer earlier today looking at a photo of my Master online (so sexy!!!!) and I suddenly had a flashback to the first time I spent the night at his house. The following morning he sat next to me on the couch in a bathrobe and played his guitar and sang for me. At that point I realized I was in love. That was something no other guy had ever done for me - sing. I think it's so romantic, mainly because most people are insecure about their voices and hate singing by themself (I certainly do), and to be so comfortable with someone to be able to sing for them is something special. Anyway, I'm still in this lovey-dovey mood and I'm wondering what sort of things made you realize that you were in love with someone. And I don't really mean stuff like personality, looks, charm, etc. in general, that's a given. More like, at what point did you suddenly realize that you could see yourself spending the rest of your life with this person? Cheers, ~fp

When I realized I had completely accepted my partner. Unfortunately, all she was interested in was my wallet and a place to stay until she could find something better. She was quite adept at hiding this for 3 years. She's 34 now and doing the same thing with a 68 year old man in NYC. "Love is blind" can be a dangerous place. anthrosub

The sub I have now is the first one that I've actually dated. I had never even entertained the notion of dating someone that was serving me. THere is a ritual we have, where he calls me in the moring to wish me a good day. A very simple thing. . . til one day he couldn't call me because of something. . .and my whole day was shit. I realized I wouldn't live without him. . . .even if he is the brattiest servant I've ever had. Princess

Oddly enough when Doug sings to me, it makes me think how we could be fighting. To fix a lot of problems we could have all he would have to do is sing. We've been together six and a half years now. I don't think the feeling goes away all that fast. Aside from that I think I knew the first time he completed my sentence for me. He truly knew me at that point.

We did have a rocky patch in the beginning because he was exposed to WIITWD and poly relationships for the first time. It took a lot of discussion and adjusting. We had to work through jealousy and insecurity issues, but what got us through this is that we are both excellent communicators and we were totally honest with one another. I think the first time I realised that this was love, was one night, he invited me over for dinner - this was the first time he cooked for me. He slaved in the kitchen for hours to prepare me a wonderful meal. He had candles around his apartment and did everything to set the mood just right. He was so adorable, catering to me hand and foot. During dinner, he told me just what an amazing impact I had been in his life and how important I was to him. And at the end of dinner, he put on "my immortal" and asked me to slow dance in his living room and I tell you, I have no idea what came over me, but I broke into tears. For a moment I was so scared because I realised just how deeply I loved this boy and how very vulnerable I felt at that moment. - LA

I knew I was in love with the Owner when he caned my breasts within the first 5 minutes of meeting me and THEN gave me a dozen roses. I knew I was in love with my Boston partner when I cried coming home to an empty apartment after we spent our first night together. I knew I was in love with the boyfriend when I met him at the movie theater and unconsciously got the hugest grin on my face just seeing him stand there. I knew I was in love with my VA beau when I shuddered under every single touch of his fingers on my body.

And I just realized that I am still in love.... We just got home from a business event (he hates them, but they are almost required for my job). As soon as we walked in the door he stripped down to his socks and boxers (leaving his clothes in a nice little heap), flooped down on the floor and is now swearing like a sailer at his PS2 game. It's the little things I suppose.....[:D]

I'm realizing I'm dangerously coming close to my sugar quotient for the year and shouldn't be going on so much.

I knew I was in love when 2 months after he told me he loved me we were in bed, just about asleep and he reached out and took my hand into his...my heart melted and I whispered I love you to him. His smile lit up the whole room that night. I knew I would love him until the day I died when he said "I won't love you for the rest of your life, I will love you for the rest of mine."

I knew for sure I was in love when coming home from work one day and the song " Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica came on the radio... I almost stopped the car in the middle of the road the feeling hit me so hard. I play it every morning now and everynight brfore bed.

When I spent the better part of day trying to think of one activity, one experience, one situation that I would not want to share and be with beth - and couldn't think of one. Considering myself an independent strong self-contentment person the attempt actually angered me on some level. It's also had a very detrimental effect on my golf game, but there are plans in the works for her to take lessons. I realized that although I was married before and said "I love you" to others in the past, it was just words. I never could define "Love" as clearly as I can now.
