Maggots! I have a huge phobia of maggots. Not sure where it stems from but maybe it's because I have a stomach disorder that makes it very weak, and I associate maggots with the smell of rotting meat, which makes me throw up. It was really only a fear until a history lesson at school long ago, where they told me that people used to bandage maggots to the skin to eat the dead flesh from a wound, then someone told me they still do that sometimes. Well, I just started having nightmares then!

I know Miatress would NEVER use maggots on me or near me, as She is fully aware that I can't cope with them. Even during films and programs I can't see them without heaving.

It is the same with health problems; due to my stomach disorder I cannot be force fed, eat quickly, eat foods I don't like or be toilet controlled (what times to go, or made to wait etc). Mistress understands this as She has seen me in pain when my stomach kicks in (it does it randomly too, it wasn't 'cause of anything Mistress did) and She would never do anything to set it off. I also know that if it started in the middle of play She would immedately set me free and, if needed, help me to the bathroom.

I am safe in the knowledge my Mistress would never hurt me or go to far with fear play. Therefore, I am secure enough for Her to tie me down, blindfold me, whatever, because I know I'm not going to wake up with maggots on my stomach! I think phobias and health issues should ALWAYS be a hard limit thing. If a Dom/me refuses to listen to that, there is always the worry that if they get angry, they'll use that to thier advantage. it should be made clear that if they do, you will loose all trust in them.

Sorry about that little babble there, I'll shut up now!

Playing on phobias: I think you'd have to be careful and the Dom would need to discuss and find out just how far he could safely push things. I can imagine the threat of using a phobia might set me on edge, and the thrill of fear is not to be underestimated, but actually doing it might be going too far.

As for allergies I wouldn't go there. As someone who has suffered with various allergies and at various levels all my life I know how they can change and what was simply a mild reaction can quickly turn life-threatening ... and you don't know when. Wednesday is correct they are unstable and I've been advised by specialists not to over do anything ... even things I'm not allergic too in case I develop an allergy to them.

As others have pointed out, it is tricky with allergies because you do not know when they can turn fatal. It may seem extreme that something so mild as hayfever could trigger anaphylactic shock, but the potential is there. Maybe you've just picked the particular flower or grass or or or this time, and a little too much of it causes an overload on the system.

Another thing to consider is that allergies can actually be made worse by excess exposure to the allergens, thus increasing your sub's irritation even when you aren't playing with them. It could lead to a permanent effect, and this outcome is more likely than a fatality. I suspect that few Doms want to have a constantly allergy-miserable sub hanging about with runny eyes and a drippy nose.

As for the phobia thing, my former Mistress actually helped me through one by bringing it into play. She did so with that intent, however, and not to use it in a threatening fashion. I suspect if used in the later way, it might lead to a worsening of the phobia and an association of that irrational fear with the one who is imposing it.

One fear that i played with early on was losing my balance and falling. He made me walk, in a skirt mind you, across wobbly/uneven rocks by a swift river along Spokane's riverbank until i didn't need his hand or any support other than his presence. Silly, but fun nonetheless.
Since then, most have just tried to 'get into my business' and do things like force me to go into public looking unkempt (i hate not fear), stand up for myself at a job, run down stairs/escalators without holding handrails, and other silliness.
Now, im actually trying to dig up some fears for DaddyMstr to play with, overcome. Inner demons dealing with embarrasment and control over my body/voice seem to do it. Don't know if those qualify as phobias.
I suggest anyone out there wanting to play with allergens stick with itching/burning sensations rather than real allergic reactions. You can still mind fuck them about having an allergen present if you just absolutely must.
