Actually this is no surprise. Leona Helmsley well known as a Meglamanic. She thought of nothing but herself. She enjoyed being arogant even during a 60 minutes interview she made sure it was all about her. She demanded loyalty from all but was loyal only to the one husband that had the money.

It did say in the article most of the money (in assets), was signed over to their charity organization.

So,looks like anything she "cheated" or was a "bitch" to get is going right back to the "people".

Oh the humanity!!, 12 million to take care of her doggy. It's not like that money won't get spent off and dissipated rather quickly into the economy.

Me thinks people are just jealous,.

If I had a billion today, hrmmm, I'd probably give about 1 million a piece to like 10 people.

Then I'd order the rest to be buned. LOL. Oh, people would curse me, LOL. They'd be livid. It'd be the funniest thing the world ever saw.

(Really though burning it would be the same as gifting it back to the government, but people would be/are to stupid to realize that).

It's her money (actually it was her husband Harry's money, mostly, I don't care if they were married, he was the one, IMO, who earned it) - but geez yeah - could have been put to LOTS better use than this. This is just my humble opinion, though.

People are cruel to one another. The older you get it seems the more time you have to think about it.
While I cannot see giving everything to the dog....I can see removing certain people from my life. Remove this person and that person because while I was alive they were just hateful to me.
Why give someone something for treating you badly?

Say you had ten million and you knew you were dying in a week. You had to divide it upon CollarMe message board memebers.
Who would you choose and why?
Who would you leave out?

Dogs are one of the animals actually capable of unconditional love, and she wasn't a well liked kinda girl, so her dog is pretty much the only one to hang out with her.

Sad, but the way of the world.

What 'percent' WAS all that referenced cash, relative to her total wealth?

Those moneyed,
somehow do get buildings and infrastructures named after them all the time...
