Majorcut -> Fakes (8/30/2007 5:24:43 AM)

I have recently ran across a few so-called female subs who after one chat session is calling me master even though we haven't met or talked by phone. Not going to name names but they always sing the same sad song about needing to escape thier masters or mistresses and hinting around for money to escape and for the move away from thier ex's. I wonder if anyone else has had the same experiences recently.

There are con artists everywhere, you did you think it would be different in cyberspace?

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: Fakes (8/30/2007 5:37:09 AM)

i suppose that's why the TPTB have this in (bright red) to remind you:

DO NOT SEND MONEY TO OTHER USERS FOR ANY REASON! Read about Common Scams for important safety information
have a nice day

beargonewild -> RE: Fakes (8/30/2007 6:43:36 AM)

Of course we ran across this at one time or another! Sheesh, it's no different on this site then on any other site on the internet. Which is why you need to use common sense, filter out the one who aren't what you're seeking and move on!.

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Fakes (8/30/2007 6:59:01 AM)

I haven't had that experience, not recently or ever.  But, Master.....what about us poor helpless victims of circumstance who need your money? Only you can help me!  Are you going to be such a meanie and not send me your hard earned cash?  That's just not nice of you.  To absolve you of your sins, you may redeem yourself and save me by sending to paypal account [email protected]

In case it wasn't obvious, that was me teasing.

JerseyKrissi - Never beat yourself up for doing a good deed. What you did was kind hearted and generous and to be commended.  NOW, don't take that as  permission to be twice burned.  Just don't let it jade you, or keep you from being the good soul that you are.  There are people worthy of that kindness.

ThunderRoad -> RE: Fakes (8/30/2007 7:40:55 AM)

A couple years ago I "loaned" some money to someone with a good sob story.  Learned that lesson.  It wasn't a lot of money and I could spare it, but the story still applies.

These days, the scammers I can spot quickly.  The ones that get me are the subs that play communications games.  The email saying they want something, and then don't respond back, or don't show up for pre-arranged IM dates, always have some excuse about why they couldn't be bothered with a 2 second email saying "sorry, something came up and I couldn't make it".  That's just fundamental rudeness.

They just happen to be few and far between...

I don't even lend money to friends, much less strangers. If they need something, I'll get it for them or pay it for them... But the exchange of money as currency is a very big no-no for me. I'll buy you lunch and drinks all night, just don't ask me for a tenner.

That's just me though. My reasons are also based on the esoteric qualities of the number 156... [;)]

I agree with that actually.  I never loan money.  Any help I can offer to another is a gift, not a loan.

What I don't agree with, is your statement that people worthy of kindness are few and far between.  I tend to view nearly all people worthy of kindness.  That doesn't mean all people are worthy of my hard earned money!  Sometimes the most valuable kindness you can provide, is to say NO.

Just my personal philosophy.

My dads a United Methodist Minister, so of course he has people knocking on his door constantly with a sob story about needing gas money or money for food. Dad normally weeds out the scammers by refusing to give them cash, but offereing to go with them to the gas station accross the street, or to the grocery store and actually buy the gas or groceries. Some are extreamly grateful...some say never mind....

WD - good point. And I agree with you. I just find that I'm saying "no" 5,999,999,998 times to the one "yes"... I'll listen to "all," but reject most. Eh, I guess that means that me and Nuit won't be gettin' it on anytime soon... [;)]

And believe it or not, I learned my "hardness" from a UMC pastor I used to live near... must be something in the water...

I think you'll find your own goddess, and when you do; the sky will be the limit and YES you'll be getting it on.
