my partner and I just started a new policy about defined # of licks (lashes) for bad behavior.  Tangible things, neglect of chores, being late that sort of thing.  It's a thing I haven't dusted off for years, and ussually only used for short-term relationships for simple ease of understand what was expected of the sub. 1 lick per minute of being late (or not calling depending if lateness in not inherently the sub's fault ..like traffic)
10 licks per missed chore

any licks "owed" still when the next offence is registered turn into 5 licks..so if she was 10 minutes late, takes 8 of them then, and still owes 2, then forgets to put the dishes away, shed owes 20 (2x5 +10)

and for those times when the debt owed becomes unpayable, she can *buy* back licks with extras, either mundane stuff like cleaning the garage or more interesting things like "birthday sex"...I do like the birthday sex *sigh*. 

putting this out here, mostly to see if anyone aroudn here has used a simple system like this, and how well they have found it works in a long term relationshp...as well as being open to any suggestion for the system...everything can be improved
