Status: offline 		my partner and I just started a new policy about defined # of licks (lashes) for bad behavior.  Tangible things, neglect of chores, being late that sort of thing.  It's a thing I haven't dusted off for years, and ussually only used for short-term relationships for simple ease of understand what was expected of the sub. The basic scheme of it is as follows.

1 lick per minute of being late (or not calling depending if lateness in not inherently the sub's fault ..like traffic)
10 licks per missed chore
5 licks for breaking agreed upon household demands (like feet on the couch kinda thing)

any licks "owed" still when the next offence is registered turn into 5 licks..so if she was 10 minutes late, takes 8 of them then, and still owes 2, then forgets to put the dishes away, shed owes 20 (2x5 +10)

and for those times when the debt owed becomes unpayable, she can *buy* back licks with extras, either mundane stuff like cleaning the garage or more interesting things like "birthday sex"...I do like the birthday sex *sigh*. 

putting this out here, mostly to see if anyone aroudn here has used a simple system like this, and how well they have found it works in a long term relationshp...as well as being open to any suggestion for the system...everything can be improved

Status: offline 		It is a great start since it defines things so nicely, though the problem is that the debt will, eventually, become unpayable. If you can keep up with the "payments" or add in additional punishments (tit or pussy torture being equal to a certain amount of licks, for example) then it could work longterm. As for sexual favors, like "birthday sex," my slaves know they are on call for that 24/7 and that as long as they are healthy they better put out like a porn star in heat.

Status: offline 		That's entirely too much math for me to do. Especially since I prefer to lick until my arm/tongue gets tired, depending on the usage.

That, and the fact that I don't consider lashes/etcetera punishment, but rather just a good time, would prevent this from being a good system for me to implement. It might work out for you, though, and if it doesn't, it'll probably be fun while it lasts.

But that's just my (sleep deprived and rambling) thought.

I don't see anything inherently wrong with pre-defined consequences for actions/inactions. Personally, even though I would adore several thousand lashes , I wouldn't purposefully be late just to garner them, so it could work with someone who's sincere in their submission and truly aims to please and 'be good.' I would not enjoy being lashed because I fucked up although Himself doesn't use physical punishments in a predefined manner. He prefers to have the punishment fit the crime.

i think i am really tired cause i read Smoking Gun's post and thought...."i thought this was about taking swats not about licking arm pits..." in reference to his arm/toung gets tired section of the sentence...now i know i am really tired cause i am pretty sure that i could have said that in just one word but i can't access that word in my brain...darned conventions having me all interested for 16 straight hours....
chelle...who should probably go back to bed cause she only got 5 hours sleep and is not posting on the boards...hmmmm

It's also entirely possible that being excessively tired has made my writing garbled and difficult to follow. So it might be a perfect storm of tiredness- although licking armpits is a funny enough visual that I'm glad this storm happened. For the rest of the day, I'll giggle uncontrollably, and it's all your fault chellekitty!

Status: offline 		If my D/s relationship required me to receive a certain # licks for for forgetting to do something or for a bad behavior, I wouldn't be in that D/s relationship. Punishment is left for an extremely serious offense, which has only happened once in 17 months, and licks are reserved for play time, which happens quite frequently.

Long ago I was involved with a guy that loved to get me right after a long hot bath and lick my armpits---he would stick his tongue just inside my nose too...like the very edges...as if there wasn't any part of me he didn't want to consume...

just curious...
you call her/him your sub...
when does the submission happen, with all these infractions, problems and beatings for forgetting and misbehaving taking place ??? that sounds very time consuming...

Littlepita, I was thinking right along the same line as you.    Maybe it is because I do not identify as a slave or because I don't like to be micromanaged.   I think even he would find it annoying if I called from Walmart and said, to explain that I ran into a female friend and would be 10 minutes late because we were chitchatting.   Now if I was two hours late without a call and did not have a good reason, that might be different.  
     Like you licks are play time, and a punishment is a whole different ball game if it is licks.    I feel sorrow for what I have done wrong, and I feel if I were punished for every little thing I did, geeze, I would probably be feeling bad all of the time or a great amount of time.   Could I honestly be happy in a relationship if I were feeling like a total screw up 90% of the time?

Status: offline 		Being a masochist the licks wouldn't be a deterrent for me. Master uses non pain punishments to deter things, which isn't often. I don't enjoy being punished so I do my best to be obedient and do what is expected. If this system works for you then use it but it doesn't work for everyone.
