Pride cometh before the fall-being wrong once in a while isn't the end of the world.

Subs are people.

What you give matters more than what you get.

You should have more than your elbows to put on the table.

It's about more than the blow jobs.

5 Things a Master should know.

1.  What their Slaves needs are, when you accept a slave, you accept their needs.
2.  What is in their minds, and soulds.
3.  The level of respect you have for your slave.
4.  Your slaves limits, and then push them slightly, but not overboard.
5.  CPR....lol.

NControlofU -> RE: Top 5 Things Every Master Should Know... (9/3/2007 8:10:52 PM)

Can't say what every master should know, but heres the top 5 things this master knows.
1) My dominance is a gift to my slave and she shows me her gratitude every day with her submission to me. 2) PMS doesn't stand for Pretty Much Sane. 3) "No, I won't" is never an acceptable answer from my slave. 4) My slave thinks on her feet, is happy sleeping on the floor, and loves being on her knees. 5) My life is superbly better with my slave in it and I will continue to do every thing in my power to keep her.

I ask this simply out of curiosity of everyones opinion.

Power corresponds to the human ability not just to act but to act in concert. Power is never the property of an individual; it belongs to a group and remains in existence only so long as the group keeps together.

Strength unequivocally designates something in the singular ....

Force .. should be reserved, in terminological language, for the "forces of nature" or the "force of circumstances," that is, to indicate the energy released by physical or social movements.

Authority can be vested in persons - there is such a thing as personal authority, as for instance, in the relation between parent and child, between teacher and pupil - or it can be vested in offices, as, for instance, in the Roman senate or in the hierarchical offices of the Church. (A priest can grant valid absolution even though he is drunk). Its hallmark is unquestioning recognition by those who are asked to obey; neither coercion nor persuasion is needed.

Violence , finally, as I have said, is distinguished by its instrumental character. Phenomenologically, it is close to strength, since the implements of violence, like all other tools, are designed and used for the purpose of multiplying natural strength...

3) "No, I won't" is never an acceptable answer from my slave.

Of course I love that one.

Just My thoughts........

1.  Be a human being, before being considered a Dom.  That means all that comes with it.  Not perfect, will make mistakes, and need to handle accordingly when they do.

2.  Always have an air of humility.  No matter how skilled or knowledgable you are, there is always someone out there who knows more than you, has been doing it longer, and might just be better at it.

3.  Remember your responsibilities.  The buck stops with you.  The safety, security, and general well being of your submissive belongs with you.  Honor that.

4.  Be grateful.  Never forget that you are living the life that most people only dream about.

5.  Never stop learning, evolving, and growing.  Whatever point you are at right now..... There is always more.... So much more.

Priceless, I'm going to make a poster of this and hang it on my wall.

I'm glad you liked it.

1. That just because he has a whip doesn't mean he automatically deserves trust. Trust is earned not gifted automatically.
2. That safewords really do mean "NO!"
3. That being a Dominant doesn't mean you can't be caring and compassionate when there is need for such things.
4. That you can get away with cheating on or beating your sub because you own them.
5. That D/s is still a relationship and that it will hit snags like any other relationship between two people. Working out the snags is what love's all about.

You are in charge

4 words that cover all 5

( of course, this is just my own perspective )

Affection is definately up there, along with making time for her. These are 2 of the problems I have had when talking to Doms. Some of them think we dont need affectio and just treat us coldly.

Obviously, this is solely opinion.  It's very hard to generalize what others "should" know.  However, to my thinking, this is what I feel it would be good for most masters/owners to keep in mind:

1.  You are not perfect.  Neither is your sub/slave.  Remember that.
2.  What others consider "domly" or "masterly" should mean less than nothing to you.  Do only what works well for you and your own sub/slave.
3.  What others consider "submissive" or "slavely" should also mean less than nothing to you.  What your sub/slave "should" be is to be determined by you, not by comparison to all the other little subs/slaves you see.
4.  When your sub/slave became yours, at the foundation of that decision was more than likely the concept that it would enhance both of your lives.  Therefore, both of you should become "more than" what you were before you joined together in your relationship/dynamic - however that manifests itself.
5.  You don't need an excuse to do what you desire to do to/with your sub/slave.  If you have the desire to do something that many would see as "punishment" yet your sub/slave hasn't been disobedient, don't look for imaginary "wrongs" so you can do what you wish to do.  Don't hide behind the concept of "punishment."  You are the master.  You don't need reasons.  Just do it[;)].

For me, those are just 5 good tips to remember.  YMMV............luci

YES YES YES. you describe exactly the relationship between Master and i. especially #5. at first it was hard to understand, but He sat down with me and explained i'm a good girl, but sometimes He will use me in such a way . its not punishment, its what He needs and its my job as His slave to be used . now i look forward to it. the fear and adrenaline .....WOW.

Greetings
What an interesting thread. I found some of the posts to be quite humorous, while others were quite serious.
The top 5, most important, aspects that I look for in a man or woman that I am contemplating a relationship with would be
1) the ability to communicate openly and honestly
2) the knowledge that submissives and slaves are human beings with real feelings
3) a kind and caring attitude
4) the ability to maintain control of themselves in any situation
5) consistency in all things
These are the things that I personally believe a Master or Mistress should always strive to attain
I hope this day finds you in good humor and good health

I love your thought on consistency.

VaWolf -> RE: Top 5 Things Every Master Should Know... (9/21/2007 9:27:56 AM)

I believe the top 5 things a Dom should know is this:

1: Respect your submissive, their submission is a gift
2: Remember where you left your submissive and what you left them doing
3: Never punish while angry and never punish out of anger
4: You are not a Perfect and you are not God, you are human and so is your submissive, be firm but be understanding
5: Never set your submissive up to fall or fail. They trust you to build their self-confidence and their self-esteem, to teach them, guide them, protect them, and love them.

ProlificNeeds -> RE: Top 5 Things Every Master Should Know... (9/21/2007 9:55:22 PM)

1) Learn to understand, before trying to make yourself understood.

2) You will reap only what you sow.

3) Kittens and puppies grow up to be cats and dogs who are not so managable and cute as when they were tiny.

4) Actions always speak louder than words.

5) Test yourself, not your partner, only then can you grow.
