MistressDarkling -> BDSM Music (9/1/2007 7:20:53 PM)

I am wanting to start incorperating music into my sessions. Is there any songs that make you hit subspace personally more easily?

dragonslave77 -> RE: BDSM Music (9/1/2007 7:33:40 PM)

Sarah McLachlan usually does it for me. Particular favorite: Hold on. How could you not like the opening line:

"Hold on
Hold on to yourself
for this is gonna hurt like hell"

I am partial to Mazzy Star's 'Fade Into You'.

That depends on whole lot on what kind of music that you're into. I, for one, have various playlists that I've made for "scene music" (I admit it, I'm a recovering dj).

For example:

Lords of Acid - gimme gimme
My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult - leathersex
Praga Khan - Kinky World
Implant - You Can Watch
Benny Benassi - I love my sex
Justin Timberlake - Sexy Back (dean coleman mix)
De/vision - Slaves to Passion
Interlace - Master
Rotersand - Electronic World Transmission
David Bowie - Heart's Filthy Lesson
Velvet Acid Christ - Slut
Shiny Toy Guns - Stripped (cover)
In Extremo - Vollmond
Morphine - Rope on Fire
Rhea's Obsession - Dreaming Blade
Mesh - Firefly
Covenant - No Man's Land
Fischerspooner - Just Let Go (thin white duke remix)

Yes, I know it's kind've a weird mix, but it works for me! [8D]

I'm a big fan certain types of music and certain bands

I like alt rock music easy rock R&B and gothic/industrial electronica for scenes. It's about making it theatrical for me

Also can't forget Recoil. "Breath Play" and "Stalker" are good ones.

Well it's the dom's responsiblity to be the one putting the sub into subspace lol, hence I enjoy music such as slow alternative i.e. Nirvana, Toadies, Godsmack, etc., for warming up, then get wild and hard to Metallica and NIN lol...I'm sure the tastes are as varied as the individuals, whatever prepares the sub best and energizes the dom....

umisprite -> RE: BDSM Music (9/1/2007 9:57:07 PM)

Can't say it's the music that sends me to subspace but a CD I love to have playing during a play session (not that I always have a choice) is B-Tribe's Suave Suave. It's a great mix of latin guitar and ambient softness...starts off slow and sweet, moves to a faster pace in the middle and then calms down again in the last track or two.

LATEXBABY64 -> RE: BDSM Music (9/1/2007 10:32:52 PM)

did they not say scene music not rave music lol

FangsNfeet -> RE: BDSM Music (9/1/2007 10:44:53 PM)

On the top right hand corner you will see CollarChat.com - BDSM Discussion Forums. Under that is a green word titled "search." Click on "search",  type in "music", and start reading all the music threads of people asking and suggesting music for BDSM scenes.

Dunt Dunt Dunt, another one bites the dust.

AlexanderC -> RE: BDSM Music (9/1/2007 10:52:40 PM)

I've never made a playlist for scene-use but here are some albums, artists, and styles I find compatible with play. I can't comment on their ability to induce or assist subspace. Osmose by Annexus Quam, various ambient and dark ambient albums - I especially like Soliloquy for Lilith by Nurse with Wound, Tago Mago by Can, and if I'm in a wilder mood atonal jazz by someone like Peter Brotzmann.

Grrrl6 -> RE: BDSM Music (9/3/2007 1:16:05 AM)

I have deep and abiding love for Portishead & Lovage.
Very sexy...  driving bass.
Good stuff.

RRafe -> RE: BDSM Music (9/3/2007 1:20:40 AM)

See if "Louie Louie" works.

mnottertail -> RE: BDSM Music (9/3/2007 1:23:57 AM)

KC and the Sunshine Band

chellekitty -> RE: BDSM Music (9/3/2007 4:43:46 AM)

well not that make me hit subspace more easily...but if you want to have to work harder play something with words...cause you're gonna have to take my mind off singing along mentally...so uh yea, pretty much everything listed in this post is crap to me for a scene...offence intended if you so choose to accept it...
personally...find the music without the words, pick a genre of music both of you like...not gonna do a damned thing for the scene if one of you hates it...and get program a playlist in a genre both you like with an increasing (warm up) intense and decreasing (cool down/cuddle/clean up/you can now worship my boots/whatever) tempo....i assume that you and this person have been playing a while, i could be wrong....but you may or may not have a structure pattern with over all how the scene goes, weaving in and out, to and fro around this...but its some place to start from...i would think...unless you're just planning on reaching over and clicking play when you think they are getting close to subspace?
anywho, good luck
chelle
