... is clearly rigged. [;)]

He didn't include Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star, etc ...), Karen O (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), or the best female vocalist ever, Patsy Klein.

Perhaps they fell victim of term limits.

Not sure about Patsy Klein. But Patsy Cline was one of the best. I think Patsy Klein was a female rabbi.[;)]

Okay.

If anyone is interested, and if it's okay with caitlyn, we can use this thread to nominate vocalists I left off my lists. At the end of the polls, we'll add up the nominees here, and do a Round 4 thread with them. Then, the four winners will square off.

I love Mazzy Star......

SDFemDom4cuck -> RE: Level's Greatest Female Vocalist Thread ... (9/3/2007 1:23:05 AM)

I can't believe some of the greats were left out.

Mahalia Jackson Her Amazing Grace gives me chills.

Josephine Baker  for her J'ai Deux Amors or La Vie en Rose.

Ella Fitzgerald  The Very Thought of You

Billie Holiday Willow Weep For Me

Diane Krall Charmed Life

Bessie Smith Empty Bed Blues

Etta James Tell Mama  or  Trust in Me

Dinah Washington Evil Gal Blues or Trouble in Mind

Nina Simone I Put a Spell on You or Sinnerman

Lena Horne Something to Live for  or Stormy Weather

Natalie Cole Someone That I Used to Love  or When I Fall in Love

Some of these may not be what they were most famous for singing. They're just my personal favorites.

Dear gawd I could go on and on and on.
