Greetings me and Master enjoy even whippings. A set number of strokes before bed witch he can increase if he belive i deserve more. i have however been told by many lifestyle pepole that this practice is wrong, and i do not undertand why. Yes it is play, and no off course it is not essential to the relationship, but it is something we both enjoy. There are several reasons to do this. One is that it is a little reminder of the position of slave, every evening. To us a whip is a powerful symbol and such a whipping makes sure the slave never forgets her place. Another inportant reason for us to do this is that it is a way to wash away all the little sins of the day, all the little flaws in this evening punishment and end the day whit a clean slate. A third reason is that it is a way to show tenderness for us. i like such shows of submission and he is sadistic, so for us the ritual becomes meaningful. So what is wrong whit this? Why do so many pepole think such a evening ritual are stupid or meaning less? i wish you well well.

interesting. I don't think having a ritual is stupid. Do what makes you happy and not harmful to others.

My Lady usually sets me up for the day with a nice spanking - it might be her belt, or a flogger. But I have a 40 mile commute, and it makes the drive go by delightfully to feel the sting and think about her...

Nothing much either, I'm not talking about a full blown scene here.. just nice 10-20 minutes. For us it's just nice. Just like cuddling a bit in bed before we go to sleep.

Who said it was stupid and meaningless? The fact that we don't do a lot of ritual, have no interest in much ritual, does not mean I'd find yours meaningless for you.

nephandi ...there are probably very few "hard and fast rules" around these parts...but one you will find most people agreeing to is>>>> to be leary of those who will tell you that " their way is the only or right way" or that " there is something wrong with your way/kink"... what works for you two....works for you two : )

As for who told me it was stupid, various pepole on thi forum and on other BDSM forums. i would however prefer not to say this and this person by name said a mean thing to me. i just wanted to ask here if this was a thing many found stupid and why. Perhaps they are assuming these are very severe whippings and that your body isn't getting a chance to heal. Because welts done over and over daily on exactly the same place won't heal, and that's the unsafe part. I think if you said spanking there wouldn't be much concern but whipping brings to mind welts and indeed, slicing open the skin.

I can see why it would not work for many people and I would advise against it for them. But it works for you, so what do you care?

You know., you really can't base what you do on what others think. You have to truly know yourself. And then do what works for you two. Even if everyone else in the world thinks it's stupid. That's my view on life anyway. They aren't living my life. Who gives a fuck what they think about it? Who gives a fuck if it would work for them? I really don't. Live your life.
