years and years ago when I was young and pretty, a sub in a relationship/collar slave etc (insert descriptive of committed /promised sub here) if they were allowed to go out by themselves unescorted to a place where something might happen, they could wear a purple (red maybe, it's been too long for my memory) ribbon displayed somewhere...this is back in the bad old days of cars with one headlights and bandanna's in the backpocket...showing those at the gathering (bar, whatever) they were free to use thier discretion in what they did that night.

does anybody remember what I'm alluding to? I only heard about it once more than 25 years ago at 3am after too many gins, so my memory is a little hazy.

Well flagging certainly let people know which side of the slash you were on and which activity you were going for- so flagging would let people know you were up for at least a few things and then you could talk to someone interested and go from there.
