i had been dominant most of my life , til i met Master. my 2 youngest brothers are Dominants but my youngest half brother seems submissive (he washes his girls panties by hand)

I'm an only child, spoiled daddy's girl - submissive. Which might explain my inability to share.

was the only child too until i was 11yrs old ...it's great being the only girl in the family (i get more stuff during Christmastime than my brothers do)

still spoiled as i approach 40

My world was blissfully present-filled around the holidays. -grins- Halloween and candy, my birthday, thanksgiving, then Christmas. Gods, I miss that. hehehehe

i am the third child out of four....

switchsecrets -> RE: Birth Order relative to Orientation (9/4/2007 7:58:12 PM)

still need more votes, but one thing that jumps out so far, is that there hasn't been any middle children that are Dominant. they're either switches or subs. hmmm.

popeye1250 -> RE: Birth Order relative to Orientation (9/4/2007 11:32:46 PM)

Eldest out of five, Dominant.
I've bottomed before but am not submissive.

Jacobthm -> RE: Birth Order relative to Orientation (9/5/2007 12:47:41 AM)

Middle child of three, (myself and two sisters) and Dom. An interesting way to expound on this dynamic would be not only to evaluate what position the subject was born in, but the genders of their siblings. Who had more controll in the household etc....

camille65 -> RE: Birth Order relative to Orientation (9/5/2007 4:12:05 AM)

Youngest of four daughters. Submissive.

BBBTBW -> RE: Birth Order relative to Orientation (9/5/2007 4:26:08 AM)

Middle Child but first born Female, DOMINANT.  I was the only girl for 14 years with an older and younger brother, had to either take what I wanted or surrender everything to them...no spoilage here.  Then my sister came along when I was 14 which solidified my Dominance.  Parents got divorced and I became the surrogate mother to all of them while my mother went out to work.  I have been in charge all my life.

spiral23 -> RE: Birth Order relative to Orientation (9/5/2007 8:09:42 AM)

freyjasdottir -> RE: Birth Order relative to Orientation (9/5/2007 8:37:56 AM)

Oldest child and submissive, also oldest grandchild on both sides.

corsetgirl -> RE: Birth Order relative to Orientation (9/5/2007 9:02:55 PM)

Only child - submissive.  I see there are only children who are dominant or submissive.  Are there any switches who are only children?

Even though my parents are vanilla, my dad was a dominating person and yes, I too, was daddy's little girl.  Given the right circumstances and people, I am learning to share, which is something I thought I would never do when I was younger.

Tajj -> RE: Birth Order relative to Orientation (9/5/2007 9:03:59 PM)

I'm last and I'm a sub. My older sister(middle child) is a switch, but tends to submissive, I think. I don't know about my oldest sister....and I don't really want to.

chiaThePet -> RE: Birth Order relative to Orientation (9/5/2007 11:48:15 PM)

Father-Dominant
Mother-Dominant
1st born Brother-Dominant
2nd born Brother-Dominant
3rd born moi-submissive (but not a given to just anyone)
4th born Brother-Dominant
5th born Sister-Dominant

Hell, somebody had to do the dishes.

Last born of 2 and submissive

nmjardine -> RE: Birth Order relative to Orientation (9/6/2007 4:08:02 PM)

I have a dilemma. I'm the middle girl of 5, but I'm the 4th born of 6. Does that qualify as "middle child"?

And I'm somewhat submissive.

feastie -> RE: Birth Order relative to Orientation (9/6/2007 4:59:28 PM)

First born - Submissive

the poll didn't allow for anymore options, so i just had to use the middle child to cover the full spectrum between first born and last born. but, yes there are many different dynamics in children born in between the first and last. age between siblings also is a factor.

MissDiscipline -> RE: Birth Order relative to Orientation (9/6/2007 10:49:53 PM)

Father-submissive
Mother-switch
Brother(first)-switch
Sister(second)-submissive
Sister(third)-submissive
I am the last of  four and a Dominant.

Very interesting topic....
I find the original selection inadequate....

The Birth Order Book by Kevin Lehman is a great read.

My father was more switch but dominant as a brother (first born).
My mother is dominant but submissive as last born to older brothers and very dominant mother, my grandmother.
My brother, first born, very submissive to a dominant female whose first born.
Myself, second born, very submissive, yet switch with younger siblings as a youngster, now submissive as an adult.
Sister, middle child, dominant yet considers herself submissive.
Sister, last female, forth born, very switch. As is her present husband and ex.
Brother, last born, 11 yrs younger than oldest brother, 7 years younger than forth child, very dominant.  Married to very switch first born female.

My Sir is first born male and very dominant.  (Mother is dominant and father skipped responsibility.)
His sister,first born, dominant.
His brother, last born....... am not sure.

Kevin Lehman says something like  -- usually  dominant first born males mate with last born submissive female or with first born submissive female.  (I think that is how he says it.)  Of course, his book is not a lifestyle psychological analysis ...

Now I need to sleep my brain !!!   [sm=goodnight.gif]
