so...what do the rest of the rest of ya'll do when you're reading through the posts and going "am i supposed to care?" or have we just had a rash of thoughtless irrelevant posts? there are some good ones, that i like, some ones i don't agree with that i still like...but a whole bunch of...why even read? is it just time to go outside into the big scary world or what? not that i haven't been...but...this is my down time...my tv time if you will...i don't watch the box with the moving pictures, i come to these boards instead...
anywho...i scheduled myself to leave 5 minutes ago, and its raining, but hopefully i will get there early anyway...

When my give a damn is broken........as it appears to be lately. ( Note: on the silly bitch test in random stupidity I scored an 80something if that tells you anything) I find that it is best to post as little as possible. My otherwise smartassy humour tends to go over the line. Something I am not always thrilled about.

OR, I stick to subjects that do really matter to me and still avoid being too much of a bitch.

I go  through stages where my give a damn is also broken. Sometimes the same things get repeated over and over. I get bored with the whiney posts and sometimes just go do something else. I give it a few days and hopefully its a little better when I come back.

For me when I no longer give a damn it is time to take a break from that particular message board or at least cut back on both reading and replying to the few things I do find interesting.

I left this board for several months after reading one too many mentor topics and realized I had to just let it go.

Thank you. I think that MOST of the time I maintain a balance that does not get too snarky and personal, at least that is my goal.
 
Unfortunately the moments I know I need to walk away are when someone is so thickheaded that I just want to grab something heavy and bash them over the head. Barring the ability to cyber headbash I can get a bit brutal/obnoxious with my words. That is when I know I had better "exit, stage left".........FAST!!

Fortunately I have a sense of humour and a life that makes it easy to walk away and forget what gave me the headbashing urge.

A little break is always good, especially if it's in the real world, or outside on a bike, something like that.
If it must be on-line, then I find other message boards that discuss things I am interested in.  Or I will read blogs that my friends have.  They have such varied interests that I feel it opens my world a bit.

This is a board with heavy moderation, I was discussing this with someone this morning.  And it can be so difficult not to speak up when morons abound!

oh wow...i must be damned good at moderating myself cause i can't remember ever getting a message from mod 11...maybe once...but it was a long time ago...no clue why...
i have live-you-need-to-take-a-break-here-i-will-give-you-something-else-to-think-about-cause-you-smell-stressed little four legged creatures that lick my toes...and its distracting and umm disturbing but...it makes me laugh too...so i guess it works...

chelle...who now has to go figure out how to hot glue some sticks together to make a larger than life grasshopper...(its for a class...college even)
oh oh oh....i saw this sign to day on a trash can for recyclable cans... "RECYCLED CANS ONLY" ..........at a college............doh! if they were recycled...wouldn't they not be cans...or how do you know if they are made out of recycled aluminum?

Can't remember when it happened....but my "give a damn" got busted a while ago from all the little darlins' that email me....you know the ones that build your hopes up, and then flake....yeah them...lol

or was it when I, and others give the little sweeties advice on the boards, which they don't even respond to and only want to concentrate on the flamers and/or give excuses

OR was it a few weeks ago, when I got a nasty little email from that "11" person claiming I was giving out "behind the scenes" information....er...which I wasn't, I don't even know any behind the scenes info....anywhooo...I think that was the point where my busted give a damn was just pushed over a cliff....lol

hmmmm...me thinks I'd better try that repair place .....LOL

We're all incompetent in some area or other.  As soon as I start focusing on someone else's incompetence, my own seem to rise to the surface to humble me.  Nobody is perfect, even moron haters :)  Besides, I'd rather fill my world with as many positive things as possible.  Life can be hard enough without adding to it by focusing on the wrong stuff.

And I agree with Toserves about having to let things go.  I realized a long time ago that I think differently than many and it's not worth the argument when people approach a topic with disdain to begin with.  An approach like that relays to me (right or wrong) that the person isn't seeking to learn other points of view, but to proclaim from the mountain top his/her correctness.  So I move on.

my "i give a damn" is always broken ...so for the most part i'm cynical and opinionated 24/7 (i guess that's why i'm so perfect doing what i do - reveiwing bands/music) because i'm not afraid to tell anyone my povs no matter if what i say is blunt and sarcastic. that's the type of person am i ...however if i don't feel like being bothered with the General stuff, i'm usually at the Random section, reading other sites or working on band-related things.

So yesterday, I discover that my physical therapy office has not received authorization for continued visits.

I call the workmen's compensation adjuster, he informed me today that he has done everything he needs to
on his end.

I call the physical therapy place, apparently my doctor is on the other line with the PT people yelling at them
for sending me home without scheduling future appointments.

I am supposed to be getting an MRI so my doctor can figure out what is actually wrong with my upper
back.  This was authorized on the 11th, it is now the 19th, I have made 19 or so calls to the MRI people
who keep leaving me messages after hours on Thursdays.

On a positive note, I am getting extremely well paid for my time off.  What really sucks is the mind boggling
boredom of sitting at home, unable to dance, and being grumpy all the time.

Yeah, my give a damn is broken.

Yeah, I've found myself in a "don't give a shit" mood, too.  You can only read these threads over and over for a couple of years and then you realize that no one's paying attention to what you type anyway, lol.  And people you try to help are only going to either argue with you about why your advice and everyone else's advise isn't going to work for them because their situation is unique and the first time it's ever happened in BDSM history. 

So, I've just been skipping around and writing shit like this that no one's reading anyway. [:D]
