Here is something that won't fit the "Domestic Spying Baa-ad" paradigm, and I really love that it's about the man I stole that from.

LONDON - George Orwell's left-wing views and bohemian clothes led British police to label him a communist — but the MI5 spy agency stepped in to correct that view, the writer's newly released security file reveals.

If the democrats could only spy on republicans, then I might support spying on Americans.

Till then,I don`t think the Constitution needs any re-writing,okay?

I think you`d be very comfortable, living under fascism.Or maybe a Stasi system, like in east Europe,or Russia.

Would you mind if we didn`t?

If all you ever have to say to my posts is to fling accusations and insults, O59, at least try to do better at it.  This statement is just dumb.

Where in Eastern Europe or Russia is there a dictatorship? (other than maybe Belarus)

Russia may not be as democratic as the US or western Europe.... but they are not a dictatorship.

A dictatorship is what we got in Iran right now...in Syria....in North Korea... in Venezuela... those countries are dictatorships.

Iran's elections are freer than any of our ME alies with the exception of Israel.  Saudi Arabia is a monarchy, Pakistan is a dictatorship, but why let facts get in the way.

I do have to comment that the elections in Turkey are freer than in Iran.  In Iran, only those apporved by the government can run.  And the Clerics have power to overturn/veto any act they like, and remove anyone from power at will.  Suadi Arabia has freer elections than Iran, but the assembly has virtually no power.  Pakistan is coming up to an elction cyccle and what will happen remains to be seen.  And of course the voting in Iraq post invasion was certified by the UN and observers as free, problaby the most of any arab state, not that it is a good example of a functioning government.
