While i'm usually flattered when someone under 30 writes me (and i could be waaaaay off there..lol) i also tend to shy away from them, for 2 reasons really.

The first is that i have 2 UM's (28 & 31) and the idea of being with someone that age is just too weird for me. i love being with my um's and their friends; the conversations are usually lively and fun, lots of time insightful, and i like to think that we all learn something from the other.

The second reason..the "ties that bind" or "gags that, well...gag" have to come off sometime, and then while we might have lots in common, there's a huge difference between living the history and reading about it. i enjoy being with someone closer to my age...when i say.."remember when..." and they do.

.....my 2 cents worth.. :)

My thoughts exactly...all those years spent trying to figure out why my relationships were rather unfulfilling. When the epiphany came in my 40's it became so crystal clear to me. I don't have many regrets but I might have taken a different road earlier on. (But then there is that whole everything happens for a reason idea). Younger folks who recognize this need in themselves early have a leg up. All the more time to explore and learn and figure out exactly what it is they want.

At 52 I've learned alot but still have a lot to learn. I enjoy having friends of all ages, we all have good stuff to share.

One of the things I've often noticed in these sorts of age discussions is the propensity to compare apples with oranges. A 25 year old with 5 years of real time experience in BDSM is compared to a 50 year old with no experience.

Well, that just seems a bit off to me. If you want to make a fair comparison, than compare a 25 year old with 5 years experience and a 50 year old with 5 years experience. Are the arguements, then, the same?

I wouldn't worry too much if I were under 30. Just think of it this way.. by the time you reach the age of us old geezers, we'll all be dead and you'll have the last laugh. Bide your time, kiddo's.

MadRabbit! That rocks. I thought those tails were SO awesome!!!! Unfortunately as I was checking them out my owner looked over my shoulder and started to sing the "little bunny fufu song" HORRIBLE!!!

Uh Oh, I hope someone else knows THAT song!!! Imagine - we used to sing that violent little song in girl scouts. LOL

I'm old. At least, that's what my 26-yr-old tells me. She also tells me I'm a freak, and she's kinda proud of that, in a weird sort of way. So I'm old, and I'm OK with that. The people I socialize with range in age from 24 (whom I've known since she was 18) to 60+.

I'm not sure why I even felt compelled to share that. Must be the Alzheimer's.
