In the summer time on Friday here in Liberty sometimes i have as many as three or four cars or RV's in front of me at both the red lights. Boy am i glad camping season is over.

We get the people heading to Vegas on our 15 Freeway. Starts northbound early Friday afternoon and commences southbound on Sunday evening.

somehow northbound traffic on Friday is worse then southbound on Sunday.  traffic from Harrisburg, Baltimore, and Washington DC ends up in this tim-buc-too town. They must turn off at i80- as to go further north- one hits i90, and Niagara Falls, NY/Canada. North of i80-the terrain and speed  limit is reduced- a slower commute- due to hills and teh higher elevations. Many which have no cell phone reception.  i80 has gotten good at cell phone reception.

Funding is approved for an Interstate "bipass".

The interstate highway system is designed so x[5???] out of every 10 miles is straight and flatish. The purpose is so aircraft could land in times of a national emergency.

We don't have traffic here.  If we did it would be miserable any time of the day or night..anyday of the week.
People say California drivers are bad.  They haven't seen midwest drivers.
They actually park in the middle of the street at red lights because many intersections don't have limit lines.
So you have to go around them to go straight through the intersection most of the time.

Everyone around here is trying to escape the smoke from those 2 fires - one near Sacramento and the other near Chico. ALL that smoke has pooled here in the valley, outside activites got canceled for most sports and kids were kept inside at school. Suppose to be this way all weekend. So yep, the traffic was worse today. Yuck.

I think we're either number one or two in worse traffic in the US. I get up at 5 am so I can escape the worst. If I haven't left home before 8, I usually go in much later. And I either leave work before 4 or after 6. If it snows, I don't even bother going to work. I will do everything I can to escape the traffic nightmare that is driving in the DC metro area.
