I'm a leather worker-mostly doing bondage gear. It's handy-since I can do things you cannot generally buy commercially. There's something about the look,the smell, the texture. The softness,or the hardness and strength. While rope is ok..I use it more for.....esthectics than to play-takes a long time to put on and off. Do you like leather? Why?

I like it, it looks good, lasts a long time, smells delicious. Though I only like it as clothes, accessories or car seat covers. I dislike leather furniture. I know a lot of kinkster nearly orgasm when they step into a leather or saddlery. But it's not my favorite textile- that's satin.

Why I too enjoy making things of leather! Small , decorative pretties rather than utilitarian hardware. ( Is it nature or nurture?) I know the time and place my leather fetish formed. I prefer silk or satin...but I like leather. I'm not fond of entire outfits of leather, but a jacket, skirt, purse, or shoes would do quite well for me. I love leather furniture and in cars, however. cp55

Leather, to wear (as a coat) is not bad, not great. No leather fetish here. But someone with a leather fetish is much of a turn off/hard limit as one who likes poo. To explain, a fetish with anything inanimate (sight, sound or smell of) is a no-no for me. edit: IMO, it makes the 'thing' animate of nature and less about the person/s involved.
