I just went through a three week training course, it was the last day of classes and the trainer told us to make sure we were dressed and polished because our pictures were being taken. I am the first to arrive at the classroom, looking spiffy, sat down, reviewed my notes, opened a can of soda. I have opened thousands of cans of soda without incident, but on that day, with pictures about to be taken, I had the stupid thing explode all over me, my hair, my face, my shirt, my pants, the chair, the floor, the desk, everything. My only saving grace is that no one is around to see me, so I go to the nearby break room, grab what is left of the paper towels, and head back to the room.
Of course, this is when my trainer spots me, still covered in soda, and he tries to carry on a conversation for a few seconds until he finally looks at me and takes in the whole scene. He starts busting up laughing, which isn't making me feel better, even though he is apologizing for laughing while still laughing at me. I send him to get more towels while I try to do damage control; when he comes back, he is still laughing. I know it was a funny situation, but I wasn't laughing about it at the time. Everything cleaned up fine, but he made sure to tell the class and the other trainers about it so they could tease me for the rest of the day. Thank goodness it was the last day of the class and we were let out at noon!
