Not by me. I'm generally the other way around. I think most slaves either have a very strange and unique definition of slavery, (which doesn't seem to be communicated very well), or that they tend to be psychoemotionally stunted.

There are a lot of so called slaves looking for rescue out there or looking to abdicate responsibility for large portions of their lives, which seems similar to me. And I don't see running away as a particularly healthy emotional strategy. Useful on occasion, of course, but not the sort of thing one should make a relationship career out of.

I agree that the terms are interchangable for the most part, but I'm the opposite when it comes to desire.

I get the feeling that there are probably more people who don't want to go quite as far as those classically labelled 'slaves', though.  Lucky for me, that's not what I want.  Even more luckily, I've already found what I want.  ;)

Now, the terms "sub" and "slave" are interchangeable.

I still use the old language, and for me slaves are still exceptional and more desirable than a submissive.

But don't expect anyone else to understand the difference.

Thank you for all of your responses.

I always seem to post threads that end up having a common theme...labels. It appears that I am having some self-identity troubles. I didn't realize it before but everyone has put it into perspective for me.

I'm trying to define who I am. I've always had trouble with that. When I was in high school I hated it that I couldn't categorize myself as an athlete or a drama geek. I was both, but in my mind, that was unacceptable. It had to be one or the other. It's the same now. I want to be treated as a submissive in every sense of the word or as an adult baby. The thing that I have to get through my head is that I could have a little of both worlds and in doing so, have it all.

I guess it still hasn't quite sunk in yet. I'm still young. Maybe this is just a stage. I didn't get out of high school too long ago afterall. The good news is that I'm not trying to conform anymore. I'm trying to define. I am who I am though and I like that.
