Disclaimer: These are not REAL flesh auctions.  Anything of that nature would be illegal.  They are more like the bachelor auctions that vanilla fund raiser have.

If you are involved in one- be prepared.  (This is just what I would do.)

First- you really have no idea who is going to buy you.  So you may want to enlist a friend to bid on you.  If they are outbid- and you have been bought by someone you REALLY don't want to play with- tell them and offer to reimburse them.  If your "buyer" won't relinquish you- give him the lousiest session ever or tell him/her to take a flying fuk at the moon.

This concept is not the romantic situation that a lot of you think it is.  It's nerve wracking! I lucked out in the one I was in.. but I'd never do anything like that again!

What I think is even more nerve racking is when initially up to the block thinking 'no one os going to bid on me'...or going for a really low amount compared to the others being sold.

Still..if it is for a good cause....

chellekitty -> RE: Dom/slave auctions Fund Raisers (9/7/2007 4:08:59 PM)

i'm going with the no one is going to bid on me thing...of course today is a "no body loves me, every body hates me, i guess i'll go eat worms" day...and i recognize it, so i'm trying not to take everything personally...and its funny...i told someone a couple of weeks ago...that no one ever wants to keep me...and he said thats not true..i do, and then he got to know me, and he doesn't...fucking prove my point...but...here at my pity party i have blow pens and stencils and blank paper anyone want to come over and play?

Mercnbeth -> RE: Dom/slave auctions Fund Raisers (9/7/2007 4:11:23 PM)

Reminds me of one of my favorite head trips I played back in NYC. The woman I was seeing thought it would be "fun" to put herself up for auction but was worried about the outcome. I told her not to worry and that I would out bid anyone. So she agreed to be put up for bid at the fundraiser.

What she didn't know is that I went to a friend of mind and told him to outbid me and I would reimburse him. I don't remember how high the bidding got, but whatever it was, the look of shock and fear on her face was worth every penny.

Ahhh memories...

It seems to me that rather than sweat rigging it, just make an NCSF donation (or whatever the thing is)  if the idea of playing with someone you can't stand or have never seen in your life is outside your interests and you believe in the cause.

And that very scenario happened to a male sub during that auction.  They put him up for bid 3 times (I think) until one of the organizers bought him.  Nothing is worse than a pity purchase :/

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Dom/slave auctions Fund Raisers (9/7/2007 4:23:52 PM)

I've heard of situations like that.  The way our club avoided them was to:

  1. Only auction off specific services.  No free-for-all scenes.  Instead, each sub would list specifically what they were bringing to the block.  For example:  One sub might offer to clean house in his/her french maid costume, another might offer a scene with floggers and paddles only, another might offer an over the knee spanking, etc.
  2. Use DomBucks.  Exchanging $100 DomBucks (monopoly money) for every $1.00 real cash.  This way, the auction would appear to be wagered with outrageously large sums, people could laugh and have fun and even better, we already had money in hand, whether or not anyone wagered on anyone at all.
  3. Auction off toys, items, etc.  Bondage Barbies always sold real well.

I'm not really a fan of M/s auctions even though for the most part they are for a good cause but sometimes it can fuck with self esteem.
I like what Girl said [:D]

WD's suggestions are good ones...

A few more:
--Allow pooling of funds. Slave gets auctioned to a group for the evening, but one is chosen as "spokesperson" and final arbiter in case of conflict within the group. Can be fun as play in it's own way, making them have to do 3-4 things at the same time.
--Allow swaps... but at a penalty of $X. Who hasn't had buyers' remorse?
--Look outside your usual group for participants. Someone knows someone who's intrigued yet not exposed... this is a good way of doing just that within some parameters. Just play nice with the newbies...
--Along similar lines: recruit "celebrities"... again, keep it on the tamer side - unless they're *really* wanting to play...

PhoenixLM -> RE: Dom/slave auctions Fund Raisers (9/7/2007 4:55:42 PM)

LOL I have a senerio for you imagine your a Dom/me, top, saddist (use term of your choice) Your being auctioned off and a well known saddist is bidding on....

I'v seen the same person do this at 2 different events, and it's always a hoot watching these people trying to get other to buy them.

AquaticSub -> RE: Dom/slave auctions Fund Raisers (9/7/2007 6:20:38 PM)

The one I've heard of you get to say beforehand if someone is not allowed to buy you.

This is how it was handled,  except I don't believe they had toys for sale.  Each person participating in the auction would fill out a "resume"as to what they enjoyed doing or promised to do.  They used SlaveSmackers as currency. :)

Joseff -> RE: Dom/slave auctions Fund Raisers (9/7/2007 9:01:07 PM)

These things always work best when held among smaller 20-50 person groups, where everyone knows each other. Invitation only parties usually insure that everyone there can at least get along  moderately well.
Joseff.

OhToFly -> RE: Dom/slave auctions Fund Raisers (9/8/2007 12:18:26 AM)

I have -always- enjoyed the idea of a slave auction. I've fantasized about a serious auction scene where proceeds go to charity. Call me in love with the romantic version. I think it would have to be a room full of "Strangers" though. Though I'm all for having fun with people I've known for years. Even if I've made sure limits were set before hand, the entire idea of not knowing whats going to happen gives me these delightful little chills. Id probably be happy just serving drinks all night if there was a "Mock-happy hour".

MmMmmm *wicked little shivers*
