I need to share a positive experience and since it doesn't have to do with another CM member I decided to post it here, but first a little background information.

I'm relatively new to the DS scene as my profile states. My significant other and I have been exploring the lifestyle but really haven't had a chance to get our feet wet. He recently went to Iraq and agreed to let a friend of ours train me. Nothing sexual....just the basics. So I suppose you can say I have a "Master" though he would rather me call him Sir. Not Sir so-and-so... just Sir.

The other day he ordered me a collar.. my first collar. One thats actually a gift for my SO and I to enjoy when he gets home. I knew what the collar looked like before if showed up, I had helped pick it out. Though nothing could really prepare me for.. getting it. I didn't have a collaring ceremony. Sir thinks something as intimate as that should be left until my SO gets home. The collar is a black leather strip, overlaid with a stainless steel metal band. A "O" ring is riveted to the front. Putting it on was an awkward affair, as it actually had to be bent to fit my neck. I didn't wear it long before he asked me to take it off and clean it, telling me I could wear it in my free time if I wished to get used to the feel of it. He stuck around for a while, we talked of future training.. then he went home.

After he left.. I put the collar back on, disrobed, and for the first time looked at myself in the mirror. I was startled by what I saw. I didn't recognize the girl I saw in the mirror. The person staring back at me was confident, sexy, vibrant, strong... and beautiful. I can honestly say I have never been able to look at myself (especially in the nude) and see that... ever. In fact I've never seen myself as pretty. For me it was.. an amazing experience. It made me feel like a completely different person, a person I think.. no...I know that I could really enjoy being.

*smiles*

Anyways.. I just thought that I would share. As.. well.. feels pretty damn good. I just wish my SO was here to share the moment with me.

i am glad you found such a positive change in all of it. Let us know how things delvelop in your training. Be careful though because it sounds like you are going through some poewrful changes and emotions and your SO is not there to experience them with you. Maybe reserving the collar for when he returns will make and keep it all the more special.

What a wonderful, uplifting post. It is so nice to see such a positive, glowing woman! Its nice to see some good feedback occassionally.

Congratulations on find a fetish. I'm not talking about something that turns you on sexually. I'm talking about the spiritual meaning of the word that means "an object that empowers".
