Irritants will vary person to person--we all have different body chemistries--so if you try some of the different suggestions people have offered here, you may find what works best for you. I like ginger for a few reasons. It's a natural substance, for one, and I love the way it smells. I've only done figging with it and used it as a vaginal irritant, but I've seen demos with it as a urethral stimulant. Following the advice of a well-known local Dominant who has offered several of these demos, I have tried to stick with the natural substances as opposed to the chemical ones--Icy Hot, Bengay, etc.--especially internally, which is really where all the fun is, imo. If you want to use ginger, google Figging: The Art of Ginger Root Play... (Thank you, Cruelletouch!! You've given me many happy moments of kinky pleasure.) For urethral insertion, carve the skinniest toothpick shape you can, which is difficult because ginger root is rather fibrous. Leave a T shape on one end so that you don't need some ER nurse to pull it out for you. Ginger will burn to different degrees depending on the ginger itself and again, the person. But when I've used it, it's never burned more than 20 minutes or so, which can be reassuring information if you don't care for it. I've found you can counteract any sort of irritant stimulus with milk products. Cassein, the protein in milk, fits nicely into the same nerve receptors that report 'burn' to the brain and help calm the sensation. Some say--and I'd have to agree, although chemically it doesn't make much sense--that higher fat content is helpful as well. Perhaps the fat helps the milk product to stick to the skin better. I like ice cream because it's cold, which helps cool the burn feeling as well. But take into consideration that I've never done any cbt with it. Sunny Tawse Archon of Rings http://AthenorLodge.com
