I would agree about how shallow some people can be....i myself am no small fry(I'm right about 200 pounds)... I do know that there are just some people out there that don't like...and are even turned off by the look of a fat or obese body, and thats there right....i'm just glad my Master isnt one of those people...LMAO

Beauty is within each person, if you live by that principle, and on the outside as well. At times, people seem to think a thin person is automatically more appealing than a large person. It is interesting that this fat people bashing is acceptable whereas other biases or discriminations are not.

We all have preferances, and that is okay, and nothing wrong with that, but it becomes a problem when their disparagment of anohter human people.

It is very strange, but i often find the least attractive both on the inside and outside tend to be the meanest to larger women.

I think it is because they assume it is easy to belittle a plus sized woman because she "must" already have low self esteem because of the negative way society views the overweight. The insulting ones have low self esteem, too. They know (because they have probably proved it repeatedly) that they are losers. It is because they have so much self hate, they think this is a way to feel superior by belittling someone who might accept their words.

I've actually noticed that some people think there's an equally "justified target" on really skinny people too, specially women. I don't know how many times an aquaintance of mine has been called an anorexic bag of bones, a walking corpse or having starving ethiopian children as a beauty goal. It's probably just as hurtful to them as the scorn big people get. However just thinking about the reasons why a total stranger feels compelled to say these things to people for no apparent positive agenda is in itself enough to question their own mental status, which cannot be good. And realizing that makes it all the more easier to shake comments like these off.

i know everyone has heard the saying " beauty is in the eye of the beholder" i truely believe that. it is very rare  ( so rare i cant recall the last time it happened ) when i cant look at someone and see some beauty.
 
chin up and all that.....can you imagine the shallowness of those people that he surrounds himself with? ((shudder))

Quick hijack...nyrisa I had to block this same member for similar ignorant comments, not about my profile but about postings in my journal.
 
I'd rather be fat than ignorant.

I have nothing to add that hasn't already been said. People like that have self image issues of their own and feel like they're making up for it by deprecating others.

Personally, I hate it when people tell larger women they 'have a beautiful face'. They're beautiful period, face and all.
