Thank you for that, KMsAngel. They do sound a really good dog with a level temperament. I've read that they are classified as a working dog, so wondered how they deal with family life and the lack of a structured and disciplined environment which is what a working dog is used to. quote:
ORIGINAL: KMsAngel they're brilliant as a family pet, they tend to bond to the whole family though mine was particularly attached to me. they can be dominant if you don't train them. when mine got snarky about his bone, he got cuffed away and the bone taken off of him, and then made to sit by me with me holding it, and then later in his bowl, and not allowed to go near it til i felt he'd learnt his lesson. they are VERY intelligent dogs. as with all dogs, even the little ones, i wouldn't get one while the kids were vy little, my kids were about 7-10 before we got him. they can be aggressive to other dogs, so something to keep in mind. oddly enough, i took him to the special kids unit in the grade school when he was a middling puppy, and the kids there adored him. when he got bigger (and mine particularly looked vy much like a bear) the littlies still adored him and weren't afraid, but older kids - particularly those who would have been a threat to my young teenage girls, would cross to the other side of the street when they saw him, lol..
