Do Dominants see certain colors as submissive or non submissive?  Do certain types of clothing make a submissive look more submissive?

This topic came up in conversation yesterday with my Owner so I thought I would ask the group what everyone's thoughts and opinions are.  Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

There are probably some who do, some who don't.
Do certain types of clothing make a submissive look more submissive?
I don't personally think so.

In my opinion its more the way you carry yourself that makes you look submissive, not what you wear or what colour it is.

He prefers clothing colors that match my skin tone, eyes and hair.  In other words, the colors that look best on me.  Well actually he prefers me naked so that kind of solves that problem.  But just yesterday he said purple is a good color for me.

We have never talked about colors having orientations, although I can see where people can have opinions about them.  There was a book my sister-in-law read to me from, years ago, and I can not remember what it was.  But it discussed colors and what personality traits they represent.  It was interesting.  I might see her today and if so, I'll ask her and return here to post it.

Apart from something that says "MASTER" or "SLAVE" we don't think so.

Color as orientation is something so far back in the historic past that it has all but lost it's meaning.

There were times and cultures in which law regulated the colors both number and combinations that a person could wear based on rank and or caste in that society.
TZhe closest thing we have as a modern equivolent.
Brown suits vrs Blue suits vs black or grey suits, Pinstripes vs not pin stripes
Designer vs off the rack.

I was thinking about that last weekend when I wore a light pink corset to a Fet event. Would pink be seen as submissive, should I wear black? What a silly thing really, its your personality and how you carry yourself (like missturbation mentioned). I actually saw someone else wearing the same corset that night, and I got the inkling that she was a Domme as well. I remember that colors meant something when it came to the handkerchief code, but that's something else...

Should of came to the ottawa fetball two nights ago.  I don't think anyone's clothing should dictate who they are, it would be unfortunate if what we wore said who we were.

For myself, not really, though I do perfer sub's in more vibrant colors.  I typically dress in darker colors.

When I want to look all uber-submissive I go for lacey things in light materials and subdued colors...the waifish type look.  Also pastels - baby pink, lavender and baby blue especially.  I think assigning attributes to colors is totally hot and I am sad I haven't thought of it before...or rather that I haven't been with a man who thought of it.

I can totally imagine being only allowed to wear panties in a certain color or colors...or having some colors to wear for my 'vanilla' life but I can *only* wear purple in private because that is my 'slave' color.  Sooooo hot!

Well at least I wouldn't have to worry about that bit of nastiness which in vulgar slang is known as "soaked thong infections"

Colors are whatever looks good on me.

With my attire he prefers me in skirts and pretty tops. No panties of course. And if I would wear a school girl outfit he would be in heaven.

hm....to answer the OP.....nope.  colors don't matter to me.

And to broach something mentioned earlier....I don't know that I agree with the idea of how one carries himself makes him look submissive.  I suppose some people (here.... I'm thinking the skittish shy away stay in the corner types) may look submissive because of that whole shy away thing...but really, can we tell who is submissive by the way they appear at a slosh or in that wal mart buying those white cotton drawers?  I don't think so, personally.
