Do you know of any good music to use for seaning and punishment?

Maya2001 -> RE: music (9/10/2007 8:04:33 AM)

Barry Manilow

So, is Barry Manilow scene music for punishment or is it THE punishment?

e01n -> RE: music (9/10/2007 10:30:59 AM)

Dead Can Dance
Steve Roach
Vidna Obmana
Black Tape for a Blue Girl
The Protagonist
--the ambient stuff, allows you to hear moaning and squealing while creating great soundtracks...

Near Meth Experience
Spade+Archer (personal favorite)
old Front 242
most anything from Zoth Ommog label
Coil, especially Love's Secret Domain and Consequences of Raising Hell
techstep, glitch step, drill & bass, illbient
almost anything by Wumpscut
--stuff with a beat that blends well with scene, but doesn't dominate completely (you can still hear a partner)

There's loads more to choose from...

Here's some more chilled out stuff. Hardcore can also work when you're getting to the real nitty-gritty, but these'll work whatever you're doing. And who wants to be messing changing tracks when the mood steps up a gear?

The Orb - A Huge, Ever-Growing, Pulsating Brain... (preferably the Peel session version)
Massive Attack - Karmacoma (et al)
Spiritualized - Ladies and Gentlemen we are Floating in Space
A lot of the instrumental stuff from Bowie's Heroes or Low albums
Chris Morris - Blue Jam (head-fuckingly strange ambient comedy radio series)
FSOL - Lifeforms
Stravinsky's Firebird Suite
Any Sigur Rós

Since my stereo in le boudoir plays MP3 discs, I just burn a bunch of tracks as a list or mix it together as a seamless groove. If I compromise the sound quality a tiny bit, it's easy to get almost 10 hours onto a single CD... And since the changer holds 5 CDs...

Excessive? You betcha!

Another really good ambient chill band that is also known as FSOL: Amorphous Androgynous. Not as many vocals as FSOL, so it can sit a wee bit better in the mix between partner and song... but YMMV.

And yeah, I definitely prefer more chilled and instrumental while playing. I want to hear HER, dammit!

ITGirl68 -> RE: music (9/23/2007 7:25:56 PM)

That does sound sadistic!

FangsNfeet -> RE: music (9/23/2007 7:52:53 PM)

Korn comes to mind.

"Shut Up! Shut Up! Shut Up! I'll fuck you up!"

Being that this is about the 50th thread that I've read dealing with music, scenes, and BDSM, clicking on search in your right hand corner and typing in "music" will expose you to all the threads started by the same question you are asking.

breatheasone -> RE: music (9/23/2007 8:26:14 PM)
