Even the tag in the back rule can sometimes fail you, i have one skirt where the tag was on the hip. Look at where the seams are, those should go down the sides, not down the front of the skirt. If there is are no tags and no seams, take the skirt and hold it up by where you think the sides of the skirt are, there will probably be a "hip-like" shape to the skirt. if it doesn't look quite right, hold it up again, this time by the "front" and "back" of the skirt. If that looks more "hippy" those are probably intended to be the sides. If it's an itty bitty mini and it's basically straight up and down and try your damndest you can't figure it out, just put the zipper in the back. If you can't tell, no one else probably will either. As for ironing, either lie the skirt flat and iron the creases down the seams. Or, my preferred method, zip up the skirt and slide it over the narrow part of the ironing board, and just rotate it around. Then, ta-da! no creases! ~kitty
