Folks, there are probably a dozen other threads where you can rant about your conspiracy theories or spew your anti-american nonsense.  For once, try to show even a tiny level of class and keep a rememberance thread away from that mess.

There is a time and a place for everything - even talk about the politics and wrightness or wrongness, the significance of the event in the larger scope of things world wide etc..... but nows not the time.  Respect the day and what it may mean for some people.  Even if you hate someone you wouldn't go to his funeral and preach what  a nasty bastard he was - at least hopefully you wouldn't.

Could we lighten up a little?

~~Darcyandthedark
And?
9-11 is no different than any other day in history that people died.  And why tell people how much you care just because you 'might not see them again'?  Whatever happened to people saying I love because they mean it and not because of some stupid guilt factor?
Pointless~~

  Not at all.People, w/ their everyday stresses and distractions,can forget express their love to their families.

It`s true,that when you leave for work or school,that you may not return or be seen again.It`s a reality of being alive.

Many people were thinking that same thing,that day.It was a reminder of how important it was,to show and express our love.

I`m ok w/ people not giving a shit,or thinking that day was no big deal.

I`m not ok with people questioning the sincerity of those who mourn.

adoracat -> RE: Tomorrow, Septemebr 11 (9/11/2007 6:04:51 AM)

sept 11 i dont remember.  i was in mourning for a friend/lover/Domme who passed away on the 10th.  i remember her....and the wonderful man from alt.poly who worked in the first tower, and his sweetheart who was on another plane to go see him that day...and his wife and young daughter, the three of them waiting anxiously to hear anything.  dec 26, the day that his sweetheart announced on alt.ply that the family had been notified he was identified....and the police officer who told his wife "we knew the 23rd, but we knew you had a little one and we didnt want to ruin her christmas"...

the turning of the season, the new year, the dead season, they all just depress me now.

I'm keeping out of this, but ffs absolutemaster, let the people who want to express their sadness express it in peace. Just don't read the thread if it bothers you.[8|]

Edited to add my apologies. I'm half asleep and should have said that in an email and in private.

Satyr6406 -> RE: Tomorrow, Septemebr 11 (9/11/2007 6:17:15 AM)

I was afraid that a post of this nature might descend into the bowels of idiocy. It's why I posted my thoughts about today on my journal where, I cordially invite people to read but, I also remind you that if your views differ from mine, you have your journal to express them! LOL!!!!!!

Peace and comfort,

Is it just me, or did a lot of posts suddenly disappear from this thread?

Is free speech being censored?

And what are the nationality and political and religious convictions of our censors?

Yes and at a guess American.

I can understand the sensitivity of 9/11 but if it can't be talked about in any other terms than maukish sentimentality, such events will keep happening.

I can't figure out why my post was cesored, it wasn't rude or irreverent or anything what could have been construed as such.

It is not censorship to moderate,or remove inappropriate or prohibited items.

BTW,we`re all guests,here on CM.It you want a place where you can say whatever the fuck you want,start your own board.

To those that aren`t interested in this thread`s solemn nature,I suggest that you read CM`s "Terms of Service".Everything`s clearly explained there.

Its a real shame that a few people just couldn't resist saying something negitive on a thread such as this. It really speaks volumes about them, VOLUMES. I for one am making a mental note of that.

What is the real shame is someone starting a crap thread based on guilt and 'oh look at me I knew someone involved.'  So what was the real motivation behind the thread? To remember the day, or to make a self satisfactory statement - other people made genuine rememberance posts here - but this one had me questioning why.  If that speaks 'volumes' then I suggest you may want to turn the knob down a bit lower so you don't hear the questions you don't wish to hear, or do not have an answer to.

If i were into mind reading so i could "really tell" what the OP MEANT instead of what the OP wrote i guess i could be more judgemental. Since i cant read minds i'll just stick with what was written and  stand by what i said before...its a shame there were those that felt the need to be negetive on a thread such as this. My "knob" is just fine thanks.

RCdc -> RE: Tomorrow, Septemebr 11 (9/11/2007 12:17:37 PM)

If the knobs not broken, dont complain on the volume.
No one reads minds, that is why people ask questions.  If the questions others ask cause you to 'judge' people for asking them, I guess that kind of makes what you suggest a .pot.kettle.black.  You prejudged those asking.
Theres nothing wrong with being judgemental if its done so without second guessing by volumes and is done so by being open enough to ask questions, or is that some bizarre illegal activity now.
The only negativity is that which you perceive.  If the person the questions are addressed to comes back to respond - that is his or her choice.  If they choose not to, then the question remains unanswered.

Thank you.

HizBabyGirl -> RE: Tomorrow, Septemebr 11 (9/11/2007 4:22:39 PM)

That was an excellent movie, Falling Down. I think of it often. I think of it when I feel as though life and the world around me is getting beyond my comprehension and I'm not sure I have what it takes to be a part of it. Anyway, it was a very good movie.

September 11th is my birthday too, mine and my brothers as well but he is older than me, ha ha.

Not much point to either of these posts then just to hear myself rattle to prove that when a tree falls in a forest no one knows if it makes a sound or not or other silly stuff. I can't afford to be too serious on my birthday.
