hmmm lady like and submissive ... veils and chains is certainly submissive but falls short on the lady like ... corset was a must for a lady in earlier centuries ... hmm not contemporary enough ... well have to go with others than ... check out some of the 2nd hand shops some really beautiful long skirts available which should fit the bill ... and long tailored dresses can also do the church thing ... good luck.

Okay, I have a question. Does the fact that I am currently wearing jeans from Walmart and that I love long flowy dresses mean I am secretly a submissive!?!?!?!

Yes, I am afraid it clearly means your a submissive, and that makes me your Domme!  C'mere my cutie and your little dog, too.  Dont worry I am a horrible Domme......and I will hang on your every word.  Oh chit, I  forgot that I already do that. <pant>  YOU ASKED--fair game :)

Perhaps you could ask him what clothing he finds submissive.....

dollylima -> RE: submissive clothing (9/17/2007 9:10:32 AM)

If you go to the thrift stores, you might be able to find some vintage stuff that your dom finds appealing...Laura Ashley, peasant skirts, April Cornell-y type stuff. You can also go to ebay and search for vintage clothing by brand or use key-words like hippie, peasant, boho, etc. You can find some amazing vintage and NOS things on ebay.

Unless this type-face was intended for the geriatric set, please note that it is considered rude to shout on the boards.
Throwing around "shoulds" is seldom productive, shouted or not.

I wish I could help!! I wear my jeans (wal-mart) t-shirts and am extremely fond of my Doc Martins. I wonder... is there a class for girls to learn more feminine ways???

slaverosebeauty -> RE: submissive clothing (9/17/2007 2:58:55 PM)

Heels, jeans, commando of course, sexy bra and a sexy top. I do NOT do 'femanine' or at least we don't call anything 'femanine' {i detest the word with a passion} MJ likes me to be comfortable and dressed for the occassion and for where we are, so I'm in jeans whenever possible.

If yuo are talking about fetish wear, I am the worst persont o talk too, I don't do fetish wear unless its for a photoshoot, I'm not a fan of 'cliche' clothing, so I avoid it at all costs. Plenty of sites have 'adult' style clothing; just take a peek, never know what you will find.

Umm I buy most things from Reitmans or Walmart or e-bay. Tho babyphat.com has some awesome jeans & shoes. Fredricks of Hollywood and Victoria Secret have some really nice cloths as well as lingerie.

If you want the flowy skirt type stuff pretty much any ladies stores carry them, or buy patterns and sew them.

But really if you know what you want I find e-bay is the best to get a good price usually.

I have no idea what "sub clothing" is tho. Pretty much is what ever your Dominant wants you to wear.  My former liked me in jeans & top over rope lol

edited to add

If you are looking for costumes for roleplaying I have some awesome sites. Found a sexy straightjacket one the other day *weg*

brianne4U -> RE: submissive clothing (9/17/2007 6:43:19 PM)

thanks everyone. We did talk and he wasnts to see me in dresses and skirts with stockings. Ladylike when we go out as a canilla couple and a little sluty when we go out as  D/s couple.

HollyBlue -> RE: submissive clothing (9/17/2007 7:59:19 PM)

Go to victoriassecret.com together and look through the clothing section. Don't bother trying to find it in their mall stores; the selection of clothing online is far greater, and things are often on sale.

There seems to be an overall theme to the clothes they sell -- they push the edge of sexiness just a bit over what you would buy in a department store or elsewhere. I've seen a lot of things there that would make me just a bit self-conscious to wear, but couldn't be called out-and-out slutty...of course there are also some things that are scandalous.

Anyway, if that's the type of thing you're looking for, I'd definitely recommend that site.

If you're looking for some fetish / party gear, try sub-shop.com. They have a small selection. Other than there I haven't looked around much for sub duds.

CrazyC -> RE: submissive clothing (9/17/2007 8:23:55 PM)

OMG there is a sub shop? lmao

Sexxy is a relative term. what makes you sex in your dom's eyes is what you should be looking for. i have found stuff from all sorts of places. I just got a wrap dress at Ross. I showed off the dress and then told the guy i am see that it is an easy off item. He turned beat red..hehehe...since it was in a public store.

There was an addendum to the handbook.

feminine clothing like most things is in the eye of the beholder but a good hint is think of other words used to describe feminine and apply that to clothing.  soft. flowing. lacey. willowy. etc then add "uncomplicated"  Think of the dress Marilyn Monroe was wearing in the famous skirt blowing up picture.  You can find feminine clothing nearly anywhere.  Just dress for your body, and attention to proper fit.  Too tight just draws attention away from you and to the clothes themselves... not good.  Too loose might work with sackcloth in a humiliation scene but not for dining out. Dress also for your height.  Short like me and ankle length skirts automatically make me look shorter and somehow frumpy.  Very short skirts also tend to make my legs look wider not longer.   Keep accessories to a minumum and very simple.  High heels if you can manage it.  My Dominant sees high heels as feminine.  Period.  i know a LOT of men, even vanilla, who think high heels with jeans is just plain sexy.  InkedMaster wants me in heels no matter if i'm wearing a dress, jeans, or only those delightful little thumb cuffs.
