cause if it wasn't in black and white the child molesters would throw hissy fits cause someone else's thread about children in movie theaters thread got left up when theirs got taken down...why can't we just talk about other adults when we are on this website...there are a gazillion other websites out there and i am sure theres at least one or two that you can talk about your children on...

So I suppose it'd be impossible to say something like: "No discussion of children in a sexual manner of any sort" or something, right?

And I think you're giving people too little credit- most people I've met know the difference between saying something is annoying and saying you'd like to have sex with something.

I have been doing some underground research for you. Mod11 is a space alien being held in Area 51. His/Her nickname is Roswell, named after the town he/she was captured nearby when his/her spacecraft crashed many many years ago. He/She is an expert at weather balloons and he/she likes 1 lump of sugar with cream in his/her coffee. The Bush administration calls on him/her regularly for military advice although technically he/she has no true experience in that field. He/She also likes walks on the beach, romantic dinners, Seinfeld and Drew Carey re-runs, and listens to Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond CDs.

No one is sure exactly what gender Mod11 is because their species is of a unisex variety it seems. Both male and female.

I personally think stating all threads on the topic of children are banned is far better and far easier to manage, than the mods having to wade through and find the fine line between what is acceptable and what is not.

Give the mods a break here. As i understand it they look after these boards for free and it sure aint something id like to do. I would imagine it is very time consuming with very little reward.
Ive been on the end of the mods wrath but fair play to them i had broken the rules. I have posted an odd comment about my um and it has not been removed. But a full thread on kids is deffo against the rules and had they let that one stand, they would have had all sorts of problems later with other child related threads being removed.
Simpler to just ban them altogether, but saying that there are always going to be those who whinge and sweat the small stuff.

Yeah, "giving people credit" is overrated for most things. But in the case of understanding the difference between "I want to have sex with mashed potatos" and "I really don't like mashed potatos," where "mashed potatos" can be anything you'd like it to be, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks for reminding me of that line, though. Although I do prefer George Carlin with "I love and treasure individuals as I meet them; I loathe and despise the groups they identify with and belong to."

The only reason I'm going to disagree with you is because it's a voluntary position. It's not like they're conscripted. And yeah, I'd be glad to take the job- but no one would want that. It'd be utter anarchy. :)

Not to be a total douche, but if it's NO mention, then why is the odd comment about UM's or children allowed? The fact that the odd comment is allowed proves that they understand there's a difference... why not apply that?

I realize I'm in the minority here, and it's not that big of an issue (if it was, I'd have left CM by now), so I suppose I'll back off now.
