TNstepsout -> What do you call this kind of play? (9/13/2007 5:47:11 PM)

There are terms for everything but I've never heard a specific term for this kind of play. It's the aggressive, strong handling. It includes hair pulling, grabbing by the chin or jaw, forcing against a wall, pushing legs apart, forcing over a bed, etc...

I really like this kind of stuff. I'd like to be able to say "I like ____play". It's so much more concise.

I think this is what "primal" play refers to.  But don't quote me on that.  It is fun though, whatever it is called.

Griffin calls it "Rough Play" when he does presentations on it. That usually works so most know what to expect.  Here are the descriptions, i hope this helps.
===================================================

Rough play, takedowns, and resistance play – Join us for a talk and demo on selected topics in rough play (face slapping, hair pulling, slamming, kicking, punching, trampling, easy and hard takedowns).  RACK will be discussed along with techniques and safety. We will explore how these type of scenes differ from other more traditional scenes and how to modify negotiations, set up, safe words, and aftercare.  We will do some technique demos and have an opportunity for some hands on exercises.  Griffin with ann

Abductions and Kidnappings – Fantasy Kidnapping or how to bring about the fantasy without jail time.  Discussion on just what are fantasy kidnappings. Topics include negotiations, forms, preplanning, set-up, involving others, RACK, safety, limits. Fantasies that work and some that don't (or at least are harder to do). Abductions and role play will be explored along with both private and event kidnappings.  Griffin

Leave Your Toy Bag at Home, Playing with Yourself. – Ways to use your hands and other body parts in play, where nothing touches your play partner but you. Going beyond the simple spankings, ranging from light and sensuous to hard and intense heavy play, all without a toy bag.  Touch and impact techniques with hands, arms, legs, feet, teeth and other body parts. How to calibrate your blows and simple safety tips, so your toy can be reused again. This is done as hands on class if the venue permits. Griffin with ann

I'd call it SOP.

Standard operating procedure.

xoxi -> RE: What do you call this kind of play? (9/13/2007 6:56:11 PM)

I've heard it called manhandling, rough sex, and takedown play.  I personally call it absolute bliss.

Damocles809 -> RE: What do you call this kind of play? (9/13/2007 7:33:58 PM)

Foreplay.

iammachine -> RE: What do you call this kind of play? (9/13/2007 7:58:31 PM)

That is what is most commonly referred to simply as "rough play". I wouldn't necessarily peg it as primal play (hair pulling, clawing, biting, scratching, growling.... now that's primal... and hawt!) per se, it does share some of those aspects.

However you want to label it, I simply call it fun!

Oh, and hot, too.... really... hot...

Consensual non-consent

SunNMoon -> RE: What do you call this kind of play? (9/13/2007 8:59:23 PM)

I like hot or fun.... I also want to add yummy.

I like "rough play" or “primal play” myself for a term.

My lover refers to it as "being manhandled" but I am in agreement with most you when you say it's just plain HOT!

I think of it as being manhandled, as well. "Rough play," to me, connotes that both players are being rough. In manhandling, my Master is being rough with me; I am not being rough with him.

Whatever it is, I agree with the unanimous consensus in this thread that it is hotter than hell!

RCdc -> RE: What do you call this kind of play? (9/14/2007 1:11:32 AM)

I would suggest force or primal, depending on the scenario.

If you are speaking of a consensual non consent, where you are taken unawares in a pre-discussed and negociated context, it could also be called rape play.

Just go with what you are most comfortable with.

Peace

Synocense -> RE: What do you call this kind of play? (9/14/2007 1:32:00 AM)

Where I am from, we refer to that as "take down" play.

Celeste43 -> RE: What do you call this kind of play? (9/14/2007 5:46:08 AM)

I always thought it was takedown play. The problem here is that I can't fight back. He's really good at grabbing me and not leaving me anyway to get a hand free. And then once he starts, I forget about fighting back anyway.

Something about being picked up and tossed on the bed just makes me melt.

MrDiscipline44 -> RE: What do you call this kind of play? (9/14/2007 6:16:37 AM)

The difference, IMO, between Takedown Play ans Forced Play is the level resistance by the one being "attacked" (attackee). The "attackee" is allowed to more actively resist and fight back the "attacker" in Takedown Play where in "Forced Play" they are only allowed to struggle or passively fight back. What the OP describes, for me and mine is Forced Play at it's best.
