Ok after the hassles with the op my Mistress decided that for at least 2 weeks i stay with her to unwind and settle to be rejusted for the new date. Just before i left W/we while out shopping she helped me pick out a black outfit for a play party etc, don't get me wrong she has wonderful taste and the outfit especially the top is wonderful.
My Mistress prefers me to be in skirts with no undies, she doesn't like me wearing shorts, trackpants, casual slacks etc for going out it has to be skirts. She says she wants a feminine sub. My little dilemia is i now don't mind so much wearing a skirt going out to dinner etc but not all the time at home. Why is it that most Dommes i am guessing likes their subs in skirts?
i am a lesbian and proud of it, but if you want labels have been leaning toward the soft butch type for several reasons, and one of them i felt comfortable wearing the clothes. i would be grateful for some feedback on this please.
As i am finding while i am in her presence i will wear the clothes she asks as i am under her roof etc, but as soon as i come home to my place i revert back to my comfortable way of dressing. Which unfortunatly is breaking one of the rules she stipulated, i am not deliberatly trying to disobey her i just find it more comfortable in something other than skirts.

Status: offline 		I prefer skirts with no undies for ease of access. It is really about that simple for Me. As far as the house goes be comfy in it. Just My thoughts.

Status: offline 		It creates vulnerability- your skin is more exposed and readily reachable.  It creates less capability- like bound feet, if you are wearing a skirt you are not as mobile, comfortable or able to do as much work.

And it is typically feminine.  A lot of the scene is about enhancing sexual stereotypes- limiting and feminization for submissives, strong and bold for doms.

You need to discuss her expectatiosn with you.  Let her explain if she literally means you need to wear a skirt when you wash the bathroom or do laundry and all that.  Ask her if she places a priority to wearing a skirt or getting the chores done a little quicker and more efficiently?

A part of me envies slaves who always get to wear skirts and never have to do any difficult manual labor.

Status: offline 		If it's just an issue of convenience, then you should really buck up.  If it's bothering you because it's messing with your self-perception in some way, if it's a kind of forced femme aspect that is really pushing your buttons (does it bother you to give up soft butch identity for femme appearance?) you may have to talk to her about this and really explain where you're having trouble.

Status: offline 		As others have said it is about their convenience and what they enjoy seeing their submissive in. Basic percentage of human beings just find women look more attractive wearing skirts and dresses.

Like what LA wrote so nicely part of the key to a power exchange relationship is creating an atmosphere and for many a submissive in skirts and dresses creates a favorable atmosphere for many dominants whether to feel more dominant, sub to feel more submissive and/or to have a more sexual atmosphere.

Part of serving a dominant is letting go of our own preferences and learning how selfish or unimportant they are. I would suggest a better commitment on your part to dress the way your Mistress wants and during this commitment I think you will find yourself no longer thinking about what you thought/should be comfortable and realize you are comfortable in the new dress codes. I also do not want to dismiss focusing on the fact your Mistress desires this should help greatly as well.

If after you give this your best effort and a solid time you are still having problems then I would suggest talking with your Mistress about changing the requirement.

Status: offline 		My Master likes skirts for easy access but in the summer i find them uncomfprtable and in the winter to darn cold (here in the northeast).  So Master usually lets me wear shorts and jeans .  Of course when we are alont together it is nothing.  If Master wanted me to wear a skirt with him i would no question.  I juess it is just a Dom/me preference.  Give it a try you may get used to it.

Status: offline 		communication, communication, communication...if you haven't gotten it by now...none of us know what motivated your Mistress to require you to wear skirts....find out her motivation, and you can find out if there are exceptions...like when you are doing chores or whatever...or if there are no exceptions...and the old addage "its easier to appologize than to ask permission" just doesn't fly in this lifestyle...it creates more problems than almost all i know are willing to deal with....so....talk to her...it gets easier with time...

Status: offline 		All I ever used to weat was skorts and after I married Daddy he cut all the shorts out of the inside of the skorts ... so I guess he prefers skirts for the access.

Status: offline 		Skirts are the choice apparell when dressing my subs. Espescially when training them. It opens them to new sensations and is esily accessible when I wish them to show me.
It is also a sign of true obedience and devotion upon training. most subs I trained always gawked at the whole no bra and panties rule. One even requested I not ask that of her because she was a receptionist. I told her to wear a longer dress.
All in all it is quite fun for both.

Status: offline 		my Master also has a skirts only policy - if i need to wear pants/jeans i specifically have to ask permission and while it's occasionally uncomfortable... well ... I can think of a much longer list of things He's told me to do/done to me that are a thousand times -more- uncomfortable, so it doesn't bother me much.

I'd recommend the long and flowy peasanty type skirts.  While i feel all girly in them most of the time, i'm not worried about moving in them so much as i am when i'm in shorter or more form (like a-line) fitting skirts.  i actually got used to it pretty quickly.

Master doesn't do it so much for ease of access (i'm normally allowed to wear panties), but because He finds the feminine form more appealing in skirts and dresses.

Status: offline 		All I can say is I'm ridiculously glad I don't have this rule.  I despise skirts- I think it's my form.  I chaffe to the point of bleeding with a few hours of putting them on.  I tried wearing nothing but skirts for awhile to see if my skin would get used to it, but, no dice.  I'm just too curvy, or something, I guess.  Either way, I can't do it.

Status: offline 		Tried it!  And that anti-chaffe gel Monistat makes.  And other OTC stuff that's supposed to help.  At best, it puts off my suffering for an hour or two.  I just can't win.  :(

Status: offline 		Thank you everyone for the input, i will have a chat to Mistress, as it is the house rule on wearing skirts, there was nothing mentioned re: housework and wearing one, i found myself the other day vacumning with one on. 
Maybe as it was suggested i try a bit harder with my commitment to my Mistress in the dress code she has set for me, as i am aware that the way a sub may act or dress etc is a reflection of their Domme...

As i have read through the responses i got thinking that nothing my Mistress has ever asked of me has harmed me in anyway, this is no different, i also the remembered the look i got from her when i tried on the black top, that was a kodak moment, it made me feel really good inside knowing that my Mistress really liked what she saw, the top i might ad is designed to show a full cleavage something i again am not used to, but Mistress really liked it.  So my thinking just has to be altered.

Do the two go together?
I know my grandmother never owned a pair of pants or shorts, but her life wasn't short on manual labor. I can see certain styles posing a problem when doing certain chores, but overall, I can't think of much that I need to do, that I couldn't do in one style of skirt or another?
I probably shouldn't be posting this, I don't want mine to get the idea that I should wear dresses all the time! But is it a common perception that wearing skirts goes with an inability to perform some functions?

But you are deliberately doing what you know she does not want.   Work it out with her.  Doesn't matter what agreements the rest of us have.  You've got to deal with yours with her.  And yes, since we reached the place of ownership -- 1 year into the relationship -- I have not worn pants out, neither with him nor without him.  His desire. My agreement to do what he desires.

Mini skirts are my every-day attire. And when it's cold, i just wear panty hose.
Mini skirts are also, in my opinion, much safer. C'os pants snag and make you trip.
Whereas skirts flow with you and you can run and climb much faster in case of danger.

and when I'm feeling less like a teenage hard-ass and more like a feminine lady,
I'll wear nice knee-lenghth skirts.
They offer the same things as mini skirts,
only I get more nods-of-approval from the elderly when I wear them.
Great for meeting the family.

Status: offline 		Lol, i think i just added 1 and 1 and got a clue. Dropped you a line on the other side.
 
Skirts, especially the long full ones can make you look and feel so female.
 
Plus nothing underneath has it's advantages, bare bottom in an instant! And air is good for those parts, keeps them healthy.
 
As for good cleavage that is comfortable and practical, try some of the camisole shirts that have built in bras. They are very comfy and they display your natural assets well. If like me you occasionally go "oh my, granny arms" try little jackets over them.
 
There are lots of online stores that have inexpensive skirts and dresses. Try Goddess Wear, Pyramid clothing, Mystic Clothing, or do what i love and go scrounge the second hand shops for bargains.

Looked at your photo, you do have rather decent assets, my bad for noticing, push those puppies up and give them and yourself the credit they deserve.

If you belong to who i think you do, She has exquisite taste from what i've seen in her photos.
