Status: offline 		Was thinking of the times when we were on the road playing in bars.  I remember last call. The guys using picking up lines to find people to go home with. Online reminds me of that people rushing to find someone or something. Doms, Dommes going after subbies or vise versa. They say our lifestyle is not always sexual driven. But everything in our lifestyle is. in one way or another. The intellectual bull that is  a mile deep exchanted  for what is really simple logic. We have gotten so far from the basics of what it is to build some thing  grand and smear with Polly plastic fake concepts. I hear the concepts of needs.  I wonder how many really know what they need. What drives a ds person to be here oir apart of this as you would say lifestyle.

They say our lifestyle is not always sexual driven. But everything in our lifestyle is. in one way or another
I disagree. Not everyone or everything is sexually driven.
Quite honestly, at this stage in my life, I could not with all honesty state what it is that keeps pulling me back. I know what I like, and I know what I want, but on that same line I could find this in a relationship outside of the M/s dynamic.
I can say with certainty though, that it is not sex that brings me back.
I can say with absolute certainty that the people are part of the reason that I stay.

To the OP

What you always fail to see is that there are so many different views and ways of living this "lifestyle" as you call it. For some it is about sex, for some it is not. For me my whole relationship is based on his control over my life. It is in place constantly and is for the majority of the time not sexual. Him deciding when and what I can eat or drink, or when I go to bed and what time I get up is certainly not sex. Or perhaps I just do not understand what sex is. Maybe that is what I am doing wrong!

Well surprisingly there is much more to relationships and love that the physical side of things. Whilst you might think that sex is the most important thing in a relationship others do not. My emotional atachment to him would not change if the physical one stopped. Of course I do not want a sex free relationship but there is far more to it that just sex. That is what you do not get.

I couldn't remain alive without food and water.  That doesn't mean my life is all about food and water.

Sex is a necessary part of a relationship for me.  So is D/s.  So is mental chemistry.  So are a bunch of other things.  That doesn't mean D/s is all about sex any more than it means mental chemistry is all about sex.

Probably would depend on the couple.  But you could ask the same thing of a vanilla couple.  What would happen if he said no more sex tomorrow?

ROFL....I have been thread surfing around here and this was the funniest.  Thank you for the laugh.  On the relationship and sex thing, I think they go hand in hand but yes you can have one without the other.  Sex without a relationship is always fun, but a relationship without sex (to me) is more like working in a chocolate factory and being on a diet (that would be torture for those who arnt chocolaholics).
