ORIGINAL: AquaticSub Can't say that I have heard anything about any female dominant communes, but I'm sure there are people would love it. Might be hard to figure out who makes the final decisions regarding the community though. The governance of the community could probably be along the lines of a cooperative corporation. Co-op boards are granted extensive powers, at least here in New York. Because they are limited corporations, they can limit things like who can buy shares, and approve or reject applications by existing shareholders who want to sell their shares. There would be by-laws, which can be lifted from almost any existing co-op corporation, and modified to meet the specific requirements of this particular co-op. If only Dommes formed the corporation and constituted the first Board of Directors, they could ensure that in the future, only Dommes could own shares, be elected to the Board of Directors, vote for Directors, etc. From there, the Board of Directors, elected annually, makes all policy decisions that bind all the shareholders. Any "profits" generated by the corporation would be distributed to shareholders annually, or used to reduce the following year's maintenance fees. It's a pleasant fantasy, but it is attainable. For economic reasons, the commune would have to be near a city large enough to employ the commune's residents, or the residents would have to be able to "home office" their jobs. Shares could be bought and sold by Dommes who want to join or leave the group. A monthly co-op fee could be assessed to shareholders to maintain common property...like the dungeon.
