Sounds like it would be way to much drama if you ask me.

But it does remind me of a story concept I had once. Most of the female population gets wiped out, leaving many guys to few girls, each adult woman getting her pick of men. I never really fleshed it out that much

Dear jimheath, Ladies and Gentlemen,

I for one, cannot wrap my mind around men as in a harem, as that seems feminine. I prefer men who are masculine and not inclined to dress femmie and or behave in a femmie way.

Now, I wouldn't mind having a barrack full of men. I would have the most thrilling sense of being loved and protected by many gentlemen--not faced with a endless sea of sex on the brain men with kinky fantasies yet to be acted out. The ability to hug and give affection to so many men would be wonderful. There are so many other ways to support the male troops. [Smiles]
Leather Boys of Discipline are most appealing to me.

Now, practical side of me would limit my household to no more than four. If in an academy state in the home, with ten students--those four will be needed, if not more. Space has a lot to do with how many can comfortably live in a dwelling, without feeling trapped in a small space. In an appartment dwelling--one is all I would need.

The advantage of having multiple men, is that chores are done faster and that leaves more time for recreation and rest. I would see these men more than slaves but--my family, my world and my happiness.

Just some thoughts.

It is an interesting concept. However, as many said, it would be difficult to turn this happy little fantasy into a reality. If it were discussed from the fantasy only view, I'm sure more would be on board. Those darn reality thoughts do get in the way.

I would prefer to have a mixed gender harem. and it wouldn't be more then 4 or 5. I would be inclined to share it ethier with another Domme/and or if I am married (maybe to a bi switch male.) But like the others point out, it would be difficult or next to the impossible with UM's.

My appetites are such that I could really only be satisfied by a group of men-unfortunately many subs seem to want to "own" me as well even though I am very clear from the start-I have NEVER been capable of sexual or emotional monogamy. If they are the jealous type its their problem not mine, deal or get out, I am not changing anytime soon. The work would be fine if the boys were worth the effort.

This is why this would never work for me. I have zero problem with being one of several/many submissives, but I also really don't have any desire to be "part" of a harem-like atmosphere for a woman. I figure she's going to be able to find that if she's looking for that, but I wouldn't be a part of it. Most of the time other men around tend to piss me off as they quite often become competitive, and I hate that more than anything. For me, I get my pleasure out of doing things for her, for the sake of actually doing things for her. Whenever I've been in a multiple male situation, it's always been one that degrades into the atmosphere of "look how I'm doing more for you than littlesarbonn is", and I usually just leave. I'm quite secure in myself to know I'm a pretty damn good submissive, so if they want to have their harem, I know they're losing something in the process when I don't return.

Now, don't get me wrong. I've been the slave to a professional dominant who was doing MASSIVE amounts of sessions on a daily basis, and I never got jealous once. Well, maybe of some of the play they got to do with her (because she took great pleasure in telling me about her better sessions, but that was mainly because I think she wanted to share this with me, not get me jealous). I'd say most men don't have this desire to be a part of a harem, but I'm not a good judge of this thought process because I don't tend to think like most men.

If it were possible minus all the drama that would pop up on a regular basis, yeah, it would be awesome!! But if you look around and find that so many female dominants are having problems finding ONE male sub/slave that is sincere and legit.. well, a harem of such men is pure fantasy. Granted, a wonderful fantasy, but it's still just like that elusive unicorn... beautiful in pictures, fantastic to read about but when it comes down to brass tacks it's still all fantasy.

Mmmm... yummy fantasy...

I have owned more than one boy at a time but both lived outside My home. I don't see owning two or more subs and having them live under one roof as being practical for Me, however I am certain it CAN be done! Negotiation, trust & constant communication are essential.

Now having one sub who is My heart, My love, My soulmate and My match in the D/s world would be ideal...then I wouldn't need subs X, Y and Z...

I can't help but wonder if there is objection to the word "harem"
I'm thinking there may be some objection to the fantasy aspect of it
I wonder if the comments would be more favorable if I would have used words like "polyandry" or "poly family" or a phrase like "owning more than one male"?

Well, honestly the harem is a historical and social institution so yes, for some of us it has a particular meaning.

If you just mean how many female dominants have multiple subs, bottoms or slaves you'll find a fair number that do in meatlife right now.

That sounds like a nice concept to me, do you think it could work??

In general, I don't think the concept of a harem could work if the subs are mainly for intimate purposes, as jealousy would pop up immediately (it's like having two dates at the same time, I had that once and it was not a good idea :-). But if a harem mees a stable of service subs who each perform their tasks I think in theory it could work. The hard part will be of course to keep the boys motivated :-)

I find the harem idea to be wonderful. Yes, it is a bunch of hard work but then again that is what makes it all the more fun. I have several subs that serve me, tho not at the same time.....but that would be the hottest thing ever to have all of them there at once worshipping me...

I wouldn't want a harem of MALE slaves but I'd consider a harem of FEMALE slaves - besides women are better at living cooperatively, in my opinion.
