Okay, we had a tie in Greatest Female Vocalist poll between Karen Carpenter and Whitney Houston,or, as DG calls them, the dead white chick and the crack ho. Poll runs until Wednesday at midnight.

Sad to say but between the two, I had to go with Whitney. Though it's only cause she did have a great voice before screwing up and ruining her own career!

I have to admit, I didn't participate in the female vocalists polls. pretty ballsy of me to be here now, isn't it? That's just how I roll [:D] What I have noticed, via Level's post, is that people seem to choose a great vocalist based on the type of music they enjoy, rather than on the voice itself. It's rather like comparing apples to oranges. So, with that in mind, for this particular poll, I voted for the crack ho, for a couple of reasons. One, while dead white chick had a very pleasing voice, a very mellow voice with a nice range, and good balance, she wasn't very dynamic. Crack ho, on the other hand, had a greater range, more power and far more flexibility.
