I read alot of profiles........

I have found a remarkable trend....
ALOT of 18 to 27 yr olds say they are bi; but not as many sub/slaves 30 and up say so.

Is this something all younger girls are just learning to put in there profile or are they really bi-curious or bi?

Am I lost in the stone age?
(sorry had to add the last part am pretty silly tonight)

i have the same damned question. i am 51..and have never met a bi-sexual woman in real life. All my girlfriends are either lesbians or straight. Was there a revolution i missed?

I think a lot of the women I know my age have been in a vanilla relationship, and have just recently gotten divorced. So they haven't really had the chance to experiment with bi. I think if I hadn't had my kids and gotten married when I was so young, I may have drifted that way. I still have my fantasies about it, but not sure if I can do it or not!!

Don't know if this is common or if it will help, but i'm bi and yet claim to be lesbian. Of the two genders i prefer women and due to past history it takes me much longer to be comfortable with any man even socially. The real reason i claim to be lesbian though is that i don't like dealing with the hassle from guys, especially if they believe they can "prove" something. Some of the really young women may not yet have that much opposition to being bothered in this way. Also, in the greater community i have found that it's more acceptable to be straight or homosexual than to be bi. Folks who are openly bi are challenged by people of both orientations surprisingly often. Or at least, that was my experience. Some of the very young women may not have encountered much of that yet.

Culture changed. Not only is bisexuality more open as with all alternative sexuality, but it's considered almost a "normal" part of one's growth as a female in the US to at least experiment with it.

It's a sexist idea, and it usually leads to bi's having less credibility with the homosexual community...but cultural values had a lot to do with it.

Hi there, I'm 33 years old, male, bisexual, submissive type personality. I bet you would agree that most of us are curious about our sexuality. Except for Bill Clinton, he is now a little sissy slut. But that last part was just me being in a silly mood tonight ;)

I think being bi is much more accepted now than it was when us oldies were younger, so we never got the opportunity to experiment.

BlouLady -> RE: bi (7/18/2005 6:25:16 AM)

It may be a generation thing. Maybe an experience thing.

fourpeas -> RE: bi (7/18/2005 11:16:57 AM)

I think it's just more accepted.

Don't forget that there are a lot of people out there too who don't even identify as being bisexual but will fool around with members of the same sex, etc... There are so many accepted definitions of sexuality now that I think that plays a big role in it.

I don't really like the word bisexual or the connotations it carries but for the strict definition of it, it somewhat suits me. So... I don't know. I like being free to experiement in my sexuality without totally putting a label on myself (as trite and played out as that sounds!!!!!)

shyguyuk -> RE: bi (7/18/2005 2:48:32 PM)

Whatever floats you boat.

this is not meant to offend just my personal thoughts.

I think this hit the nail on the head for me. If we were all 'allowed' to be who we are from the get go, I think a lot more people, male and female alike would find themselves in the 'other' category. Even though it sounds like a cliche, it doesn't matter much to me what your gender/ethnicity/etc are, what matters is how we connect. Women, even if they call themselves straight, can appreciate the beauty of the female form and mind. Does that make them bi? Men can look at other men and appreciate physical and mental qualities that they admire. Does it make them bi too?

If bisexuality is defined solely on sexual relationships, then the next question should be why are we having sex in the first place. For those of us who choose intimacy over plain intercourse, the labe 'Bi' would seem insufficient. Any thoughts?

It could be that no one really wants to admit it. From my own experiences, I've encountered a seeming prejudice against women who are bi. Of course your average guy thinks it's hot (he can just imagine the girl-on-girl action he'll partake in), but women, straight and lesbian are a bit more reserved. Possibly because of so many women who jump on the 'I like girlz!!' bandwagon without any thought to how their little experiment might affect people. A friend of mine who is a lesbian recalled her first love dumping her for a guy. Other lesbian have told me that 'with a bi woman, you never know when they're gonna switch teams again'. Personally, I tend to keep that nugget of information to myself because once announced, both lesbian and straight women immediately think 'She wants me!!!' lol. It's a lack of understanding, I would say. So long we've been conditioned to believe anything other than hetero is deviant, therefore, anyone who asssociates themselves in such a deviant fashion must be up to no good.

sabis -> RE: bi (7/18/2005 9:18:11 PM)

*raises hand* I'm above 30 (36, actually) and am bi....

First experience with another girl at age 16, back in high school - she did it as a dare and to torment her boyfriend with the thoughts, I did it because she was *yummy.* Followed it with a triad relationship that to this day, still makes me ache when i say her name. Put thoughts of such things out of my head for a reaaaaaaally long time. Master saw them in the way I'd glance around when i thought He wasn't looking, and has been coaxing them out and supporting them ever since we became a couple.

i also agree that it's largely a cultural thing: being bi doesn't have the stigma that it used to. Heck, it's mainstream, practically: Buffy the Vampire Slayer shows girls kissing on non-cable TV. Movies include lesbian shower scenes (anyone remember Gina Gershon & Jennifer Tilly in BOUND? MeOW!)

i am a 33 year old submissive man, extremely interested in trying bi... i would love to have a Domme tell me what to do, how to do it correctly... So, yes, there are bi-curious people out there over the age of 30... and some of us are men ;-)

They haven't learned the value of privacy yet. As for me, it's nobody's business but my own and those I wish to tell.

I get told this a lot actually, that I have no sense of privacy or propriety because I talk about orgasms, sex, play and a lot of other things without restraint.

How I like to put it is that I'm an extremely private person, I'm just private about things most others aren't.

It's a values and priorities judgement, I don't think I haven't learned the value of privacy, I just value it differently than you do. It doesn't mean much to me if someone knows I am bisexual. If they know my nephews names, THAT'S special.
