Greetings to those who have chosen to peek at this post.
In the event you were musing about the subject, I'll elaborate:
I'm stepping into this site for the first time, poking my head through a few doors, and seeing what there is to see. I'm stepping out of my normally reclusive habits to wave a casual hello to whoever is looking. I'm stepping up in the sense that after shuffling at my own pace through the outskirts of the community, I've reached a level of comfort that allows me to discuss my interests freely. I would, however, offer my standard disclaimer that though I'll likely answer most any question, I never promise the answer that's expected...
My profile, should you choose to look, is deliberately vague. I prefer direct communication. Profiles feel like standing on a mountaintop with a megaphone and calling down into the valleys below; you know you spoke because of the echo, but have no idea who, if anyone, is listening...
I'll stroll a few blocks closer to the centre of our fair community, but don't be surprised if I linger at the edge of the light - quite likely leaning against a wall, propped on one shoulder, in a casual slouch. There's more for me to discover in my own silence, since someone else is always willing to fill the void, and one is never to old, or too wise, to learn.
